Lost first and reverse gears

Out of the blue, my transmission lost first and reverse gears in the Walmart parking lot. How embarrassing - I had to push it out of its parking space. My buddy and I checked out the steering linkage. Everything seems fine at the shifter assembly, so we looked back at the transmission. The he...

Just a weekend trip in the Sierra Nevada

Some friends and I decided on a little light-duty 4-wheeling trip over Memorial Day weekend. With the heavy winter, there's still too much snow on any of California's high mountain trails. For example, they just plowed the road to Echo Lake a couple days before we arrived at our cabin at only 7,500 ...

#3 cylinder burning lots of oil

Is there anything in particular with the Pinz engine that could cause a large and sudden increase in oil consumption in one cylinder? Here's the back story: My 1973 710M sat for roughly a month until I went to fire it up and found it only wanted to run on two cylinders. After a little diagnostic wor...

I agree. Why worry about unknown ebay sellers when you can buy with confidence from Expedition Imports or Swiss Army Vehicles and support the companies who support all of us Pinz owners as a community? Their prices are fair and their service is outstanding.

I have too much respect for the Pinzgauer to beat the crud out of it going through Little Sluice.

I won't even take my 4Runner crawler on 37's through there. That obstacle is for the big boys on 44's+

Great pics!!! the Rubicon event looks like a blast. I saw some pics of your pinz on Pirate. How did it do on the Rubicon? No problems at all. I touched the underside of the toolbox (behind the battery box) to a rock enough to scrape some paint, and I kissed the body right behind/below the front bum...

After the Rubicon, I met up with some other friends and did the Strawberry Ridge Trail. Here is their photo album, including some shots of my Pinz:

Cantina for the 'Con (Rubicon Trail) Labor Day weekend

The Cantina for the 'Con is an annual Labor Day weekend fundraiser to generate money to keep the Rubicon Trail open and healthy. It's not as much a 4-wheeling event as it is a 4-wheelers' event, although anyone and everyone can head out onto the Rubicon after stuffing themselves with tacos and buyin...

34" Interco bias ply "swampers.... They were trashed after the first 15K, now with 24K on them they look like drag slicks :-) Which 34" bias ply Swampers? The 34x10.5-16 LTB ( http://www.intercotire.com/site36.php ), or the 9/34-16 "Narrow S.S."( http://www.intercotire.com/...

I've towed my 18 foot Bayliner several times with my 710M with no issues whatsoever. I keep to the legal trailering speed of 55mph, and braking is great even without trailer brakes. It's also nice when the Pinz is the only tow rig at the facility that can pull its boat back up the steep, muddy launc...

Thanks Erik, I found that thread and read through it. I'll revise my statement:

...the Pinz doesn't share its wheel lug pattern with any other vehicle available in the United States.
