thanks for the answer Alan. I understand this all really doesn't matter in the grand scheme of things, (it is going to tip when it is going to tip), but I find the why questions about things the most interesting. Didn't think about them tipping forward. maybe we should do a poll to see how people te...

yall are tempting me to tie my 710 to a strap and tie the other end to my tundra to tip the thing over (aimed at some mattresses) and read the tilt guage. hmmm... ok, and i need another vehicle on the other side to pull the pinz back from falling right over and then pull it back upright. who's done...

My 712W (with the 9' tall box, see my avitar) routinely gets to 30 degrees on the inclinometer just going around corners. I really don't want to find out how far it can go; that fiberglass box just won't be pretty if it does. I'm guessing it could go 3-5 degrees more. But it is so much taller, and ...

I was in a tip over and it didn't seem like we reached the full 45 or so degrees before we started to tip. I think it was because we had some sideways momentum because of a huge rut we hit. I think there is probably a certain amount of tilt it can have when moving slow or stopped, but if you are mov...

Pinzgauer Documents/Info
I am considering writing an Engineering assignment on the Pinzgauer. It is just a few pages nothing really in-depth but I am looking for sources that talk about design/engineering of the pinz. I seem to recall reading that someone here did some in-depth research for a college paper. Does anyone know...

they also make jackets with several magnets on them that surround the oil filter if any one is interested. Also, for people with newer cars, a warning before putting a magnet on your oil filter: I put one on my 02 truck a few years back and it turns out there is a sensor module of some sort in the a...

Canadian 15 year law/ Running on oil
So I have been thinking about getting dual citizenship for several reasons for a couple of years now. My mom is Canadian so I don't think it would be too hard but I haven't looked real hard into it. When I saw the thing on one of the posts about being able to get 15 year old pinzgauers in Canada, it...

Really sorry to hear about that, that's terrible Just for everyone that knows a motor cycle rider, my dad worked trauma anesthesia for +/- 25 years. In his opinion, it's not if but when you will be in a wreck on one of those even without the alcohol mixed in. Friends don't let friends ride motorcycl...

Re: fuel economy
trip of 528 miles gave me 15.6 mpg. I am happy with that. Even pulling the little trailer it did ok for me. I am wondering if the 2.7L conversion will change that mpg much. Morris That's not really too bad considering my little 02 nissan pickup gets about 16 mpg combined highway/city. as far as big...

Don't really know exactly what the clamps you need to crimp look like, but just off the top of my head, a lot of wire strippers have a crimper tool built in. Also, those slip joint pliers (I think that's what they are called) may work if you are careful , the one all the way on the right in this pic...
