Just an update. jeepboy_90 sent me a solenoid and it is working great. Many thanks to everyone, especially jeepboy_90!

As a backup, I reconfigured a manual 3-way diverter ready to replace the solenoid when it fails.

Can anyone please let me know where I can purchase another solenoid for the 2wd/4wd system? It is the solenoid located under the rear facing jumpseat on the passenger side. The brake light now turns off! Thanks for the tip Uli-RT. Now, if I can just figure out why the front axle is not engaging.

The vacuum seems to work as I hear the hissing when disengaging the lockers.

i finally got around to picking up my truck from the pier after 5 weeks of sitting. i was not safe to drive, as the brakes were not fuctoning properly - leaking wheel cylinders. i decided to have it shipped on a flatbed from long beach, ca. to san diego.
