Engine Shop Needed

I am rebuilding my 1973 710M engine and need a shop that can machine the heads for new valves and seats.

My local shop did not have the proper size tools to do the job correctly.

Doe anyone know of a shop that has the proper tooling?

Thanks,
Anthony

Re: Buying 2 new batteries, share your favorites!

I am curious how you keep the 12V compartment charged. Do you just plug it into a charger or did you run something from the alternator? Yellow or Red Optima depends. I run with 6 Yellows: [1 + 1] = 24V and [4 x 1] = 12V creature comfort devices. They don't out-gas, and orientate these on their side ...

Re: Alternator Rebuilds

I hope I did not offend Jim or Scott with my earlier post. I have purchased parts from Scott before and have heard nothing but praises about Jim. I appreciate the wealth of knowledge the folks on this forum are willing to share. My symptoms were the facts that there was a knock in the engine and the...

Re: Alternator Rebuilds

I did get responses from both Jim and Scott. Unfortunately, both said that the price has a huge variation with no positive number until it's done.

I guess it's a crap shoot.

I hope to find the alternator shop in Buffalo and have them take a look first.

I installed an Espar Airtronic Diesel heater in my '73 710M. There are a lot of these units out there because they are very common in the trucking industry. It is very easy to find a used one on eBay. I mounted it behind the driver's seat and for a fuel supply I tapped a hole in the top of the jerry...

Clutch Problems

Ok, I have only been a Pinz owner for 6 months. (1973 710M) I am trying to work out all the bugs in my vehicle in my quest to make it an awesome adventure traveler. Today, my Pinz started acting up. I had not driven it for a few days. Today, when I pressed in my clutch pedal, she squeeled like a stu...

I would also like to do the same as Mike. I just purchased a 710M with no rear seats.

Thanks
