Hahaha, I am the one who worked on it to get the engine Running last week.
What an honor to be the one who is allowed to work on the holy grail.
btw the engine is running now.

Re: Air cooled with disc brakes.
I own one '82 710M that was used as a factory Prototype to promote an upgrade program for the Petrol Pinzgauers. It actually uses TD parts. My race 712M and my own 710M were converted with TD parts too. The guy behind classic SUE is a very good friend of mine and we developed the Disc brake system t...

Re: Neglected Pinz Contest - post them if you've got them
Well this one doesn't look that bad but was still neglected. It was sitting in the rain for 25 years before we picked it up.
THE 712K Prototype.

And before someone asks. No, my 718K is not neglected!

Re: Air shock absorbers
You can send the air shock to Sachs so they can replace the air bag. This only makes sense if the actual shock absorber
is still in good shape. Otherwise it is better to buy a new unit.

Re: brake rotor
The rotors are pinz specific. There are none that I know of that can be fit without machining them down.
They are not that expensive as they were some time ago though.

Re: Some Volvo and Pinz action from the 2012 Breslau Poland
I have some onboard videos of this year's Breslau race on my youtube channel.
Nothing special (the Videos) but you get the idea how it is.
Some off road action.

And some faster tracks.

Re: Water repelling sleeve for distributor?
Just get rid of the vacuum system on the distributor and close up all the holes left. The theory behind the system was to remove all corrosive gasses that form under the high currents inside the distributor. God knows why they installed it on the swiss army Pinzgauers since 75% of all Pinzgauers do ...

Did you mean the turbo charger is racist? My god, didn't think about that... that's why the Turbocharger on my 718K has let me down... But then again it is a Garrett unit so no excuse for that. no he meant what he wrote KKK are used on Porsches http://forums.tdiclub.com/showthread.php?t=13815 Yes t...

The second Pinzgauer belongs to a friend of mine. Turbocharged fuel injected engine inside 8) You can't just drop that and not provide more information  I can be so mean... can I? Just kidding. I just do not have that much up to date in depth knowledge about his project as I have different th...

Re: Front camber?
That might be the solution to your problem. You can try that out easily. Just search an empty parking lot and have someone let the truck drive slowly forward for a 20 yds and then backwards the same distance again. If you see the truck change camber you know that your alignment is off. When your fro...

Re: Front camber?
Might be a little late for me to chime in here. I don't think that you have bent your axle. I do a lot of rally racing in my Pinzgauer over here in Europe. Racing for me means 60 mph+ through really rough tracks. Sometimes you just do not see a bump or a combination of bumps and take them at very hi...

Re: Missing bolt/stud on Differential?
Haha, no need to worry. There is nothing wrong with your truck. This hole in the central tube is unused. It is only there because the central tube is symmetrical front and rear. The front diff uses all of the mounting points the transfer case on the other hand doesn't. So please don't drill anything...

Re: Hub Swivel Balls Losing Their Shine?
I wouldn't worry about the front CV joints. As long as there is any Oil in the front wheel drive the CVs are lubricated sufficiently. Even without Oil they would last a long time before going bad. The upper portal bearings are more a lot sensitive to a lack of lubrication and will die long before th...

Re: Castor(Tire Wear)...
If the uneven tire wear issue bothers you too much and you do not carry too much load with your Pinz you can take
out one of your rear coil springs per side. That will correct the camber while the truck is empty especially with the light 710M.
