Re: Engine Reassembly

When I did the 2.7L rebuild Jim L. sent some Permatex anaerobic gasket maker. It is red and works well on rear housing and jugs to block; I was under the impression that the head to jug surface was 'gasket-less' and was a lapped surface. The sealant is available at NAPA for $15.00 product code is 76...

Re: SWPA Treffen

Remote sounds like fun ..it'll make me home sick. A self contained multi-trail Treffen would be fun. Meet at the beer store for ice & soda, then head out for 5 days .... camp where you drop. :posting.php?mode=reply&f=6&t=7565#

Re: Cold War Remarketing ????

I did some business with Patrick late july. It takes a little work, a couple phone calls, e-mails and a couple shop visits but turned out OK.

Much, much less work dealing with SAV, EI , Linden or Andre. But I needed a part just bad enough.

Re: Towing with a Pinzgauer 710

Recon113, I was helping out pikes peak marathon race operations 2 weeks ago. The Pinz hauled 600 US gal of water to 14,100 ft elev on an industrial trailer -total load would have been close to 7,000 lbs. It was a long trip due to elevation and switchbacks but my 712 was fine for this job. Top speed ...

Re: Wheel bearing P#s (SKF?)

Berger,

REAR Wheel hub repair:

The Inner wheel bearing - SAV D054120050 is in an FAG box labelled NJ2207E.TVP2
The outer bearing - SAV 9006311 is in an FAG box labelled 6308

These #'s correspond to the parts manual EDZZ refers to

Re: Wheel bearing P#s (SKF?)

Berger, I have a 712 and recently finished wheel seal #6. Not once did I need a bearing replaced, just the seal to keep the gear oil in the hub. Are you sure you need this or are you just getting prep'd in case the bearings are NFG?

Thanks. It will help with selecting a size, as Scooter and TheCrier seem to have different dimensions installed.
