Re: FS: 1975 710M in NY, Excellent Condition

It was a tough decision to list it, trust me, took me about 6 months to decide. I just feel like if I am not using it let someone else enjoy it.

Recieved my muffler in the mail the other day. Its a really nice unit and looks like it will fit nicely.

Hoping to install soon, cant wait.

Re: new type of engine

This is very similar to the engines in the old Fairbanks-Morse diesel locomotives of the 1950's - the Trainmaster.

Similar but here the opposed pistons are vertical.

Pinz mechanic in NY area?

I live about an hour north of NYC. Looking for someone who has some experience working on the pinz - specifically looking to do some driveline work. Balanced drive shaft, new bushings, maybe Exec II etc. Anybody with 4 or 5 hours drive would be cool. I'd really like to do the work myself but I dont ...

My idle was very inconsistent when I got my 710. Its idling pretty good now after doing a few things. I sprayed lithuim grease on all the linkage joints/pedal pivots/hand throttle. It had a slight bit of stick before doing that which has now been eliminated. I also found that the choke can be quite ...

In for 1, nice post. Now how do I mount this thing? Does anyone make a reciever for the front so I can get the reciever mount for it?

Also, are you just running 24v to it or stepping it down to 12v?

Metal chip on diff plug

I changed the fluid in my rear diff yesterday and when I pulled the plug I found some metal shavings and a small metal chip on the plug. I had wanted to get a pic of the chip but somehow I cant find it anymore. By the looks of it, it did not appear to be off of a pin of any kind but rather it looked...

Anybody ever use Penzoil Synchromesh in their transmission?

I used this stuff on a 55 VW I used to have and it really made it shift nice. It is said to have good yellow metals compatibility so I wonder if it would be good for the Pinz. Just wondering if anyone has tried it? Here is a link: http://www.pennzoil.com/#/transmission-fluids-and-gear-oil/pennzoil-s...
