Re: My Pinzgauer is undergoing a civilian face lift

This is in my top 3 favourite builds of all time and I am glad to see things moving right along once again. Thought of your truck when I seen this pic and I thought I would share it with you for some added inspiration

Re: Selliing 1975 Pinz 710M "Radio Truck" & 1963 404.1 Unimo

Dam! I was hoping the mistake was in the year not the model. I'd love to get my hands on a nice 401 again..... Good luck with your sales

Re: Selliing 1975 Pinz 710M "Radio Truck" & 1963 401.1 Unimo

Is that a typo or mistake on the year or model of the Unimog? As far as I know the 401/402's were only produced until 1956 when they were replaced with the slightly larger 411's. I would be interested and looking forward to the pics

Re: My Pinzgauer is undergoing a civilian face lift

This thing is awesome!! I admire your courage to take on a project like this and hope you have the time and budget to get it done by your deadline. The only down side I can see is going to be visibility, especially out the front. How do you see your seating position compared to the pinz? What is the...

Re: Breaker issues

Oh and I do have manuals but they were at a friends house, who of course was gone all day. Like most things they are right there in front of me until I need them, lol

Re: Breaker issues

Thanks for all the quick replies.... So I had a spare breaker on the shelf and pulled the #7 and replaced it. Yes it was toast and would not reset even after removed. I do have the black out light in the grill but did not see that response until after I was done. It did have a orange wire with black...

Breaker issues

My Pinz is a 1972 710M....So vehicle was running fine with no electrical issues prior to taking the starter out and having it cleaned and serviced at an auto electric shop. May or may not be relevant to my current issue but I find true coincidences to be rare. So after reinstalling the starter I wen...

Re: Where, and how many, Pinzgauers exist!

On a side note, when I was looking at buying my Pinz, this dealer claims to have on of two 1968 fixed prototypes used in the Pinzgauer factory video.

Re: compression test

So with good batteries the slow cranking problem was corrected and the compression test results were much better. All cylinders were in the 115-120 range.

Re: Slow Cranking??

It turns out the slow cranking was the result of bad batteries. I had overlooked the possibility because I was using the RV batteries out of my brand new trailer. So I assumed the new batteries would be good but I had them tested and they were not up to par. Perhaps they sat dead at the trailer manu...

Re: Play in steering relay arms

Thanks Jim, I will add the O-rings onto my order with SAV before it goes out in the morning. What about the bushings? Do they typically show a lot of wear? Wondering if I should be ordering them as well?? Their listed at $88 a piece

Re: Play in steering relay arms

Thanks a lot guys, sounds like a bit bigger job then I had hoped. I will go talk to the shop this morning and decide whether I am going to spend the money and let them do it, or try and find the time to do it myself..... All repairs must be completed within 10 days of when the inspection was perform...

Re: Play in steering relay arms

Any idea what kind of time is involved in a job like this? Because I am using a shop that is not familiar with the Pinz it would be very helpful to know roughly how long it "should" take.

Re: Play in steering relay arms

As seen in the parts diagram relay/idler arms are listed as #16 and #28 and the shim as #13, Swiss army does carry the shim but does not list multiple sizes.
