Re: Exhaust smoke, oil in one carburetor ?
I became a proponent of leak down testing a couple of years ago. I began to notice a wee bit of loss in power on my 710 EFI, and suspected it was time for a top end job. First thing I did was a compression test as it's a quick way to tell you if there's a serious issue. Yup, #3 have VERY low pressur...

Re: Exhaust smoke, oil in one carburetor ?
Well 120 psi is a bit on the low end of the range, but OK ... That said that appears to be a fair amount of blow by. It would be a good idea to redo your compression when hot -- it should improve with expanding rings and pistons -- if things are normal. Again, I'd suggest doing a leak down test, it ...

Re: Airpod Pro (or other) for phone calls?
I've been using a Bose noise cancelling headset (with built in Mic). It pairs to two endpoints. In my case a iPhone and a Pryme BT-501. The headset will flip to the iPhone when there is an incoming call. The Pryme dongles are designed to plug directly into a Kenwood or Baofeng hand held. They have a...

On the drivers side is the cylinder side so there are several possibilities.
But a pix of the area would help.

Re: Lean mixture
I assume MOT stuck their probe up the exhaust pipe. So any air leak in the exhaust system is also a possibility for a high Lamda reading. Exhaust header, coupler from header to heat-exchanger, lot of parts in that path that might be worn or loose. Then the heat-exchanger itself or muffler. Look for ...

Re: Lean mixture
Yikes! That's an AFR = 20.58 mighty lean. And if so, not a healthy condition. If true there are a number of possible things that could result in a high Lamda, possibly a bad vacuum leak. Do you have a high idle? Is it difficult to start or runs rougher than in the past at idle or at RPM? Check all p...

Try Puch.at, they will ship to the USA. A little cumbersome to make the transaction but they are very responsive. https://www.puch.at/en/products-&-spare-parts/pinzgauer/pinzgauer-petrol-710-712-(austrian-army)/electrical-equipment/ignition-system/21116_12616_shop_IGNITION-CABLE-COMPL.aspx?LNG=en

Re: Vapor Lock
I have little choice but to run E10 gas. It's a matter of practical convince. Almost W/O exception that's what your friendly gas stations sell. I've looked for pure-gas https://www.pure-gas.org/ and the options are spartan. At least I am running summer blend. E10 does bump up the Reid Vapor Pressure...

Re: Vapor Lock
To answer Vince's question -- idling before turning the motor off might reduce Vapor lock due to heat soak. I say might because it all depends on the circumstances; idle RPM effects air flow, your current elevation, ambient temp, and fuel your using. But, when your on a very steep grade, need to jum...

Re: High Water
I would expect Puch would have done a worse case analysis; truck loaded to max
and a wee bit of additional margin.
Kind'a don't want water hitting the fan or Ignition components.

Re: New Owner of a 710M. Looking forward to learning a lot!
The engine compartment of a Pinz can get pretty stressful for an electric fuel pump. Ironically worse after you turn the motor off and airflow stops. Some pumps can take a beating, most can't. If your pump is located near where the mechanical pump was I strongly suggest you move it out of the engine...

Re: Tipping Point
They can get tippy... Pretty narrow Track at 57" versus a stock JK at 62" for example. Somewhat high center-of-gravity due to relatively high clearance with Portal axles. The K's are more tippy than the M's -- just a bit more weight with more steel above the central tube. Generally, you ju...
