Re: 710M vs Garage Height

Just one last posting on this from me in case there's an idea that might help. Fortunately for me, my garage is an outside building, with no second floor above. So I had a bit more flexibility to raise the header. It was framed for a standard 6' 6" opening with a flapper type door -- which made...

Re: Switch key off for engine braking?

I assume what you are describing is post ignition not back firing -- Exhaust "farts" That can be caused by a very lean condition. Lean under a high vacuum requires more advance as the fuel burns much slower under that condition then results in unburnt fuel in the exhaust. Why this h...

Re: 710M vs Garage Height

Jeffn, One last comment... If you have the bug for a Pinz -- get one. Don't let the garage situation be the show stopper. There are much bigger things to think through such as maintenance, repair, the general condition of one you may acquire AND what your intended use will be -- they ain't the best ...

Re: 710M vs Garage Height

7' 2" was for my 712M, and only has a low profile antenna mount on the roof. But...there's a lot of variables to consider in that height measurement. Tire size (I have 33"), condition of the Suspension (mine, relatively in good stiff condition), and the odd duck, I backed into the garage. ...

Re: 710M vs Garage Height

Some models are higher than others. The K's have a roof hatch on the hard top, going to be approximately 7' 6'", if there is an Antenna base mounted would be more vs base type -- but they can be removed. A "M"with a canvas top (no roof hatch) are about 7' 2". I have one of each a...

Re: 710M vs Garage Height

You have PLENTY of headroom -- some will be envious

A 710K with antenna mounts and 33's will be under 8' height.

Re: Hard starting hot

JimmyC... What you are describing may be heat soak into the intake manifold. I have experienced this first hand on my Carb'd 712. It is more prevalent if the intake manifolds are not insulated. Styer-Puch had a hot climate version of the Pinz and one thing that was done was to insulate the intake to...

Re: Battery going dead

I've had this Molex hand crimper for years, never has failed me and works for other "similar" type barrel terminals. Expensive but don't settle for a knockoffs. Amazon link below, you can search for better prices out of places like Digikey etc. P/N 63811-1000 https://www.amazon.com/Molex-6...

Re: crankcase ventilation

For years my EFI 710 ran with no Crank ventilation, like a 50's era car vented to the atmosphere. Couple of years ago after I did a top end rebuild, I decided to be nicer to the environment and correct that and connect to the vacuum vent side of the throttle body -but- I also decided to add a Oil ca...

Re: Battery going dead

If you remove the top front "tin" which is forward of the Front Carb, that will
give you acess to the back side of the alternator and the Molex connector.
You do NOT have to pull the carbs.

Shovel Mounting

A Swiss shovel has been laying around and I want to mount in my 710K Wheel Well. The Mount for the Blade is present. I have a Handle mount to attach but not sure where the heck it should go. If anyone happens to have their Phone and Head in your 710 Drivers side Wheel Well can you take a PIX of the ...
