Re: Stretching the wheel base?
Rocky Mountain Westie Christoph Gut in Switzerland has built a unique Pinzgauer with extended chassis. He has used the tube extension of a 710 for a 712 https://pinzgauer.ch/assets/0000/4076/DSC015111747-0sw_thumb.jpg?1514499552 additional pics and the stories around can be found at https://pinzgau...

Re: Stretching the wheel base?
not aware of anyone attempting this modification. You could source the spacer from the 710 backbone and then rebuild a driveshaft. body mounts would have to be changed or the extension in the body tub done where no supports exist currently. I would think this would bring on a lot of issues. My tub ...

This top has huge potential. Someone should really buy it. I am negotiable on my price too. I am just trying to do some Spring cleaning.
Come check it out and make me a offer.

VW Westy pop top cap conversion for a 710M in CO. PICS ADDED
Hey Guys, so many moons ago I made a custom hard top for my Pinzgauer Using a 1980 Volkswagen Vanagon Shell with the fiberglass pop top. It is about 1 1/4 wider on each side. You have to remove the rear roll bar. It sits up on the bed sides and attaches to the front roll bar and the windshield. It h...

Re: My Pinzgauer is undergoing a civilian face lift
So here are some more pictures. I have been working on this project with my brother a lot in the past few weeks. We are learning a lot about metal shaping and the capacity of the tooling we have. We will probably have 150 hours into this passenger front fender and door. Most of the stuff was cut on ...

Re: My Pinzgauer is undergoing a civilian face lift
I have been doing a bunch of mini projects on the Splitzgauer and there is progress. I have gotten a lot of the front floor sheeted. I used 10 gauge which is almost 1/8 think. A little overkill maybe. There are also some pictures of the Passenger side Rocker/wheel well/ dorr jamb. I made that all ou...

Re: My Pinzgauer is undergoing a civilian face lift
Great job. When I was younger I wanted a 4X VW. Got stuck a lot...the VW thought it was a 4X. Can you still get the engine out if you need to after the build? Thanks for following along. Engine removal won't be a problem. The front doors are almost 4 feet long! I spoke with Jim at Goatwerks the oth...

Re: My Pinzgauer is undergoing a civilian face lift
Amazing work. Thanks for posting it. Arent you a little worried about that winch mount though? The approach angle is pretty severe and will kill progress in lots of situations. Yeah it was definitely a concern and a consideration. in the process. It has been a while since I saw a regular Pinzgauer....
