Does anyone have any miles done with the FMV boots? Someone told me they had spoken with a plastics guru who said that polyurethane was not a very good material for that purpose.
I've fitted 2 and they seemed to be good quality, but i havent done any miles yet.

Re: Parabolic springs anyone?
I got the same reply. "Not interested in making a run, and theres someone in the US interested in buying my design" My doodle only comes up with 4 1/2 sets. Doesnt seem enough yet. Unless someone is rich enough to take the stock of the other 5 1/2 sets and go out an sell them... I'm actual...

Ok i have made a doodle http://doodle.com/poll/ek2u7pyxsepg7xb3 Add your name if you are serious about proceeding. I will recontact Heystee and try to get a price. If this proceeds i would try to arrange it that we can each pay them directly. I dont want to get involved collecting money and chasing ...

Re: English Electrical Diagram
I also translated (well my swedish friend did) the wiring diagram key, and have started listing the circuit numbers.
I have it on a excel sheet, i'll find a place to post it.

Re: Skogen - My C303 conversion & expedition build
You really need an overhead console because you do not have room for enough switches, gauges, breakers, and other stuff! Nice work, looking good. Hi Jim I do have an overhead console, it houses the 4 radios. I'll get a pic later. All of the switches i need are in place including spare slots if need...

Re: Skogen - My C303 conversion & expedition build
Well that's pretty impressive! I've seen some of your posts on LR4x4, but nice to see it here now. I love the idea of the OM diesels, but know very little about them, and their availability here in Aus is pretty much zero. :( I'd love to hear more about the detail of this conversion. So many questi...

Skogen - My C303 conversion & expedition build
I bought myself a Volvo C303 back in 2011, firstly because i always wanted a 101FC and then fell in love with the Volvo which i'm reluctant to say is better. Its definitely proven, this is mine in Finland before i bought it. http://i161.photobucket.com/albums/t240/hoss_183/IMG_2808_zps748946d3.jpg I...

Re: Replacment steering wheel
Ok so i made my own adaptor by buying a s/h wheel and cutting and machining down the hub. Then made a ring on the lathe and had it welded on. Now have an OMP style fitting.

Re: Replacment steering wheel
Yep i've come to the same conclusion, none of the aftermarket wheel manufacturers have an adaptor for this column.
So what i've done is buy another steering wheel from sweden and cut the centre out, i will then machine up a ring and weld it on.

Re: Planetary gear leak?
You can dismount the whole portal in one piece and withdraw the drive shaft. - Basically disconnect brake lines and breathers - undo the bolts holing the swivel body to the axle (catch the oil) - withdraw the portal and drive shaft (I made a custom support for my trolley jack to help, its heavy) I t...

Re: Planetary gear leak?
If theres oil on the wheel its almost always the CV boot.
Easy to check that before you dismantle the hub.
