Re: Have to sell my baby

Update: sold the C303, got a decent price, you will most likely see the new owner here at some point, hes already done the electric fan swap, pertronix ig. and coil. I got to pay some urgent bills, but also got a daily driver at the extreme opposite end of the vehicle spectrum from the C303: a fully...

Re: Driving my C303 inside a VR game I am making

Its a living, sometimes. :) Mostly its just a lot of learning and making a lot of mistakes...oddly similar to owning/fixing the real c303. :)

Driving my C303 inside a VR game I am making

Ive been making a huge 8192m 3D environment using the Unity game engine, with mountains and trees, etc. I am working on a model of my volvo so I can drive it all around in there, but anyone else can too, even with a VR headset. This is a very early screen shot http://images.plurk.com/4ZgHi3N05RWZfPD...

Finished Gas Tank Install!

Finally got a break in the weather so I could put the tank back in! No more leak, no more damage, no more crap hardware/hoses and added a 2nd fuel filter coming off the tank. http://images.plurk.com/2kjxh1nadatYkWwGlP6p.jpg http://images.plurk.com/33AM6BIO4LxAbRS5lP6p.jpg This is the damaged area wi...

Re: Gas Tank Leak Woes...(dun dun duuuuun)

Here are some additional images of the fill/layering work with solder to fix the damaged areas of the filler can lid assembly: http://images.plurk.com/7tAzHR5FuFcfEGvblP6p.jpg I used brass sheet to form the two halves of the top of the lid and formed the edges to make a cap for each side of the stra...

Re: Gas Tank Leak Woes...(dun dun duuuuun)

I completely agree with you. I went back and forth about brazing it, as I had the materials and tools. However, the heat required for a proper braze would have required redoing the inside of the tank as well with some kind of paint or liner. There was no rust stain or rust at all inside where the pi...

Re: Gas Tank Leak Woes...(dun dun duuuuun)

Wanted to post some pics of the progress on the gas tank leak. I had mentioned the rubber the previous owner had put in the mounting brackets; Below you can see the rubber (top left) and the damage it caused to the brackets. The areas where no rubber was applied were fine, hardware came off without ...

Re: C303 B30 Electronic Distributer

I have read of both the Pertronix Ignitor I & II as well as the 123 Ignition setups working well with the C series, though the 123 is a complete distributor replacement (if I recall correctly) and the ignitor is simply a small device which fits inside your existing distributor cap, replacing the...

Re: Gas Tank Leak Woes...(dun dun duuuuun)

Today I finally got the last of those rusted tank bolts cut off and dropped the tank. I managed to save the adjustment springs in the bolt assembly, which are very good steel like mini coil springs but had to finally make my own saw blade for a small jigsaw that would fit in the limited space I had ...

Gas Tank Leak Woes...(dun dun duuuuun)

In crawling about, I discovered a leak in the gas tank where it mounts to the bumper of my C303. It was not hit. The leak was caused through ignorance and negligence, so I wanted to share this is the hopes of preventing it happening ever again. Bad repair jobs are everyones problem! The tank mounts ...

Re: Part/Brand suggestions please! Need your help.

In the last few days I have continued to find conflicting information on the oil viscosity. I have seen info saying that both 10w40 and 20w40 are recommended for the b30a from the sedan, and mostly 20w40 for the engine when in the c303, though not always. I also find information that the 164 was ava...
