stamped date on parts?
I am really curious.... I have noticed a lot, while working on my truck, that there seems to be a date stamped or part of the casting process of parts. Mostly on aluminum parts but I have seen them on the block, witches hat and other parts. It is a circle with "83" in the center and a bit ...

Re: Cold War Remarketing?
I know this isn't really the place for this but... I wanted to also give a shout out to SAV & EI. Sarah at SAV is awesome to work with and a big help. They have just about everything in stock and prices are good. When there is an issue, they take care of it. Great folks! Scott is also awesome. I...

Re: Wheel Bearing failure/ Seal Replacement
I didn't see anybody answer the question about the marks or cracks on the alloy backing plate. These are casting marks and can be seen all over the truck on the aluminum cast bits. It is normal. A word of advice on using PVC as a drift. Pretty dangerous. PVC is brittle and will shatter like glass. T...

Jumper being the #2 battery? :?:edzz wrote:No one I know of uses a 24 volt timing light, just use your 12volt jumper battery to power your 12 volt timing light.
I tried it off the #1 and it did nothing. I did get a pretty good time by ear. Easy to do with 3 people!

Congrats ! Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk - now Free Thanks! I did a trade which was really not in the plan and this kind of thing never is. The Warn Pinz coming back to me was actually not in the plan either! But cards do fall where they fall... I got a truck that will suit me better in the ne...

Re: The Warn Pinzgauer
Your verve for cleaned and painted pinz parts is infectious. I must get back to work immediately. Thanks! I found a while back it is really not that hard to take old junk and make it new again. I am actually doing a frame off nut & bolt resto for a client right now on a 1964 Nissan Patrol soft ...

Clever to do that to the coil spring locating pin. If done right I see no reason why it wouldn't be a good upgrade.
