A new member bought it and picked it up Saturday.
It will lead an interesting life in it's new home, but I'll let him tell that story.
Thanks again to all who inquired!

True, but note you would need to remove the two currently installed storage boxes to allow fitment of another pair of benches. Very doable though, and the mounting points are present.audiocontr wrote:this and the two seats for sale in the classifieds make for as great truck at a great price!

VIN sent by PM (not really comfortable posting it, but don't know why I'm uncomfortable....) Yes, the engine upgrades make this a really usable truck. I won't recommend doing it on a daily basis, but on our return trip from Reno, we spent time on I-40. Keeping up with traffic at 65mph was easily pos...

For Sale: the Millenium Falcon of Pinzgauers: "She may not look like much, but she's got it where it counts, kid. I've added some special modifications myself. But we're a little rushed, so if you'll just get onboard, we'll get outta here." http://i1377.photobucket.com/albums/ah42/chuckhar...

Re: Pinz DOA after getting stuck.
But mine was "can't suck any air at all through it" plugged, and the plug was at the metal inlet to the dizzy housing. Good mention though about the flow restrictor.audiocontr wrote:The line for the dizzy should appear plugged. It Has a small ball which limits vacuum.

Re: Pinz DOA after getting stuck.
Updating for posterity: I bit the bullet and purchased the solid state ignition for my truck. Installation was easy and it runs great, even in the rain. During the "take everything apart" phase of the project, I found a couple things for others to look for if they are experiencing water in...

Re: Pinz DOA after getting stuck.
trust but verify. Yes, my adapater does cover the vent holes! I guess that means the only way for moisture to get into the dizzy is between the cap and housing. (Barring a cracked cap, of course.) Am I missing something? My dizzy has a seal (of sorts) but it looks pretty old and dry. Looks like a go...

Re: Pinz DOA after getting stuck.
I've read a lot on here about other approaches as well, some including sealing the vents.
Has anyone developed a system that works well, particularly in the rain?
I can't imagine the military training manual cautioning against driving in the rain...

Water in the distributor seems to be pretty common. Has anyone determined the "best way" to waterproof it?

Re: 24 volt plug ID
I was told this was a light from a HMMWV, but I have no way of confirming it. Two wires go to the lamp (pretty simple DC circuit) with the positive wire fused. It is a 24V JW Speaker model 9780, 35 watt HID spotlight. Supposed to be a pretty bright thing. I hadn't planned on modifying the plug, I wa...

24 volt plug ID
greetings! I just picked up a 24V search lamp (on the bay) and it came with a connector I don't recognize: http://i.ebayimg.com/00/s/MTYwMFgxMjAw/z/EioAAOxyJX1TC~eQ/$_57.JPG Now, I know I could chop it off and connect a standard 24V cigar-lighter style plug, but the wiring is so nice (fused and wate...

Re: Fat Fabrications hard sides and roof
Agreed, it looks fantastic! Are we still talking $1200 to $1600 as shown with the windows? Do you need the truck to fab these or are the trucks "similar enough"? I have a particular interest in just the rear door section, allowing a full-height door that can be operated from the inside. We...
