Pinzgauer 710K for sale in WA
Hi everyone! Hoping you can spread the word to anyone interested in acquiring a Pinzgauer of their very own. After owning it for a few years my situation has changed (bought a house) and I just can't put in the time and effort the Beast needs any more. I feel guilty every time i look at it sitting i...

Re: Started with spraying oil, now it's down to stuck bolts
First, don't panic. Correct the fluid level and check it after a week, if it is overfull by a small amount plan on replacing inner axle seals in near future. If it is a large amount then the inner axle seals will have to be replaced(removal of wheel drive assemblies and almost complete diff tear do...

Re: Started with spraying oil, now it's down to stuck bolts
Well, that's sort of good news, bad news. Good news that the fluid levels are not low. Possible bad news that a wheel drive is high, since it probably came from the differential. The question is, how quickly? Diff fluid should be contained within the diff by seals. Replacing them is a bit of ...

Re: Started with spraying oil, now it's down to stuck bolts
Update... I went to see a friend who has an even bigger bar and better tools. We managed to pop my suspected right rear fill plug and lo and behold there was about a cup too much of lube in there. Checked out everybody else in the process and those levels were all right where they should be. Guess t...

Re: Started with spraying oil, now it's down to stuck bolts
Sorry, I should amend my words. Not oil but yes, only gear lube and brake fluid down there. And I didn't loosen the drain plugs enough to drain anything, just got that initial pop to make sure I could and then promptly retightened them. I'm 100% for maintaining vehicles, so even if this is the kind ...

Re: Started with spraying oil, now it's down to stuck bolts
I feel like I'm missing some form of key information here, for example "oh this actually is a counterclockwise bolt" , but I don't know what it is. I got a breaker arm with the correct size hex key and and for funsies managed to pop all 4 of the drain plugs, but none of the fill plugs. Add...

Re: Started with spraying oil, now it's down to stuck bolts
Use the hammer from your tool kit and smack the plug, this will in most cases free up the plug. Use at least a 16" breaker bar on the allen socket. Ah, forgot to try smacking it straight out. I did attempt a breaker bar but with a cheaper socket. Investing in a better one is definitely on the ...

Started with spraying oil, now it's down to stuck bolts
New day, new excitement with the truck... I drove it from Portland, OR to Seattle, WA yesterday. Felt ok on the freeway, nothing of note until I arrived and looked at the back of the car. There was a very distinct spatter pattern originating from some heavy oozing around the rear passenger side whee...

Re: Name that oozing substance...
Forgive my ignorance, jack for what exactly?
Are you serious? Please tell me your truck DIDN'T come with a hydraulic bottle jack that sits behind the passenger seat, next to the fuel neck, used to change out a flat.
No, no it's there...AND LOOKS LIKE IT"S BEEN LEAKING. Son of a...

Re: Name that oozing substance...
if it is oily, it is a leaking jack  I remember that post a while back - oil and the odd drip and it ended up being the jack :) On mobile so hard to search for that old thread Forgive my ignorance, jack for what exactly? I think a tank drop is definitely in order at any rate. How hard of a t...

Re: New WA pinz owner
Pictures finally! (one of which you can see a pesky oozing that I'm currently trying to track down in another thread...)
And yes, I am aware of NWMF...but I think I might have a work commitment that weekend. Of flippin' course.

Name that oozing substance...
Truck is (and was) running fine, however this ooze trail appeared after sitting for a week in moderately (85F) warm weather. I haven't had a chance to get into super research mode, and am still figuring out the truck as a whole in general, but I'm going to inexpertly hypothesize old hoses? Seems to ...

Re: New WA pinz owner
Thanks everyone! I believe I've already gotten a taste of the insanity- just getting the thing licensed and registered was a 2+ week process. Looking forward the fun parts of insanity now. :D That's good info on the paint. At this point it will likely be touchups, then once I get a better idea of wh...

New WA pinz owner
Hi everyone, I wanted to stick my head in the door and say hi as I just bought a 710K about a month ago and have already spent waaay too much time lurking around the boards. It's currently hanging out in WA, as am I, and I know there are few more PNWers out there. I saw a tan 712 in Ballard a few mo...
