Re: Some questions for a new comer

I mean I understand that people want to preserve old vehicles. It's not like there are only 5 in existence though. I forget what the numbers are but the earlier pinz were fairly plentiful. I'd say anyone that wants to bring one out of the dumps should go for it no matter what the mods are. If someon...

Re: Some questions for a new comer

If you read my quote. I said Pinzgauers are what I want to save. Someone got to this one before I could save it. I don't know the first thing about what was done, how well it was done, or what it can do now. What I do know is I would never pay as much for this as I would a stock truck(with mild upg...

Re: Some questions for a new comer

I'm reading allot of conjecture and speculation by several parties here. Want the information. Ask me. I'll tell you. At a cost. Information isn't free. Good money was spent aquiring the information on " sand treasures" and will not get passed on freely. PM me if your serious. If not, kee...

Re: Some questions for a new comer

I don't know what he was looking at out there but $13K for a legal 718, landed here, probably won't happen again. You can't even buy old 712M's in the US for that. Just be sure about what you are getting into. You might not realize what taking down a 718 really means. These aren't Chevy pick-ups. I...

Re: Some questions for a new comer

Put your location into your profile and if someone is close, they may reply... they won't if they have to scrounge for it. Also one of the recent threads, I posted approx TD numbers, that will give an idea of the number of hensteeth out there. Added my location and added it to my signature. ...

Re: Some questions for a new comer

Thats what a big beefy front bumper is for. Just hope you don't kill who over you hit. All I'm saying is they are both not the safest vehicles on the planet. Just something to keep in mind when driving them. The safety issue with all of these older or forward cab 4x4's is not so much when hitting a...

Re: Some questions for a new comer

Well I guess I understand the break in period as far as revs go. I wish I knew someone close to me with a 716 or 718 so I could take a look and a drive in it. I'll probably just keep an eye out for the 716-718 to see before buying either. Not sure how easy that will be though. Sent from my iPhone us...

Re: Some questions for a new comer

Or as far as wrecks, the way I see it it's no different then the Jeep Wrangler. If I ride around with my family in the wrangler and something jumps out in front of me I already am aware to not swerve but to just hit whatever it is. I also don't plan on driving this thing on a daily basis. It'll onl...

Re: Some questions for a new comer

Respectfully Redman From what you wrote, you should look to something other than a Pinzgauer for high speed family trips. You are not going to find a Pinz with a sustainable speed in the 70’s,and if you did, any mechanical failure at those speeds would be disastrous, a gas Pinz more so with their d...

Re: Some questions for a new comer

Go find someone with a 710 or 712 Drive it Now try to get it up to 100km/h and see how comfortable you feel. Now imagine your whole family is with you, sitting in the back of it and see how comfortable you feel. A diesel will not be significantly better Either learn to drive 55 miles per hour or le...

Re: Some questions for a new comer

Honestly, deal breaker more like a life breaker, don't even think of 70Mph. Never mind the wear and tear on the portals etc. with the brakes on the Gasers you will be on top of the car in front of you before you stop or eating the tail gate of a big rig in front of you  Being top heavy you als...
