Re: Engine stumble halp

Makes sense-
I will try to retard the timing - and see what happens- not sure how far with the Solid State Ignition

Here is a link to a video I posted on a facebook group that shows it stumbling.

Engine stumble halp

74 710M, rebuilt the carbs SSII. Engine starts on first try and idles fine but stumbles and backfires(into carbs) under any acceleration- without any load.

Re: Extra wires? add on?

Makes perfect sense-
thanks

I fried my brake light switch( little wiring fire- could not really see to plug things in back there- I assume replacing it will require me to drain my reservoir( or make a mess) and bleed my brakes afterward.

Extra wires? add on?

After much fighting with my non working brake lights and turn signals (an interesting circuit BTW), and reading 200 +posts about light troubles (thanks to all posters- what a knowledge base ), I am up and running, during my troubleshooting I came across the following connections coming off the low b...

Choke (fuel enrichment) screw up?

So I have been working on getting my 73 710 back on the road after years of sitting- so went through the "red death", then added the solid state ignition module, then rebuilt the carbs, replaced one shut off solenoid. The problem is i think I messed up the chokes when i put them back toget...

Re: cylinder cup and seal

Well the cup does pull off with a little prying with a razor knife- I was able to muscle the seal over the end. Really tight though - my arthritic thumbs will be reminding about the job for a week.

front Door adjustment

Anyone have any experience using the door adjustments on the front of a 710m? I took the door hinges off to paint the body now the doors don't align so well. I was hoping someone might have some experience with this before I just start loosening and tightening bolts.

Re: Custom door panels

These might be the best looking door panels I've seen.- I like how you went over the door hinge area, instead of cutting around it, I'm thinking of copying your doors, how did you cut the panels? What was the cost of the material?

cylinder cup and seal

Rebuilding my hydraulic masters. I got the rebuild kits, But I'm not sure about one of the seals (grooved cup), seal.jpg Do I need a special tool or does the white cup remove somehow? unscrew / just pull out- I don't want to try and force something that is not intended to move. I tried stretching th...

Re: Locker Panel removal

Well, it looks like a rebuild is needed- disconnected all the lines and none of them moved any better. So, I pulled them out and I am now investigating the rebuild procedure. Do you know if hey are all the same? i.e. do I need to keep track of which lives in each spot?

Re: Locker Panel removal

Success-

The number 3 Phillips with a "love tap" and they came right out. I was getting ready to drill them out. Thanks so much. Now i just have to figure out why not of them want to move- they all feel like they are hitting a stop - just a few millimeters in.

Locker Panel removal

I feel a little stupid, but for the life of me I cannot get the top two screws on the panel that covers the lockers control to budge- tried the usual -penetrating oil, heat, extra cursing, talking to onesself, etc. It's pretty tight behind it, and i'm wondering if there is a nut back there I have to...

Mystery Part

My 710M has been parked for 10 years. I am working on getting her back on the road, albeit in a new pimped out version. changing the exterior color from green to black and tan, changing the interior from green to gray and black, updating the shape of the rub rails, new front seats and (gasp)carpet i...
