Re: New guy with new guy concerns..
All of the above and: -check where the rear suspension coils connect to the body on top, these studs can get rusty as dirt and water get trapped in the cup holding the coils. -inspect the tarps carefully, they are rather expensive to replace if UV has worn them down. -check if some of the breakers i...

Re: Pulling bottom pulley
Oh. Yeah. I forgot to ask. Regular threads(normal directions) on both fan and crank? For the crank, I don't remember, but if you look at the picture I linked on the German forum above , you can deduct the thread direction from the position of my wrench and the normal sense of rotation of the engine...

Re: Pulling bottom pulley
I've built this extracting tool. Be careful, cast iron is brittle, avoid sharp hedges, protect with rubber. I did not break the pulley with the extracting tool but when I was trying to hold it in place to remove the nut. Carefully mark the position it is mounted in, because there is a keyway in ther...

My 710 has a breather on the front diff but not on the rear.
Re: Pinzssi?
An alternative is to install a full ECU like I did, Megasquirt Pro 3 mini. More involving but you can do more than timing advance. I'm using an external coil driven by the ECU and kept my mechanical distributor stock in case my new system fails. See my thread about it, I prefer if you ask questions ...

Re: Pinzgauer 710M Conversion - Build thread
Salut Eric Good questions. I have not used rivets but low profile round screws which the head inside the box. Then I covered the heads with EPDM or foam tape. Now, the aluminium sheet on the inside is flat and smooth. I'm not sure there will be a lot of abrasion on the PU. Maybe I can grease the con...

Re: Electronic Carburation
Update on my project. The first modification I've made is to use my Megasquirt ECU to interrupt the 24v going to the idle cutoff solenoids to switch off fuel supply when engine breaking. I've been using it for a month now and after a bit of tweaking it works nicely. The ECU switches off a relay when...

Re: Fan/pulley nut
I changed that seal. I broke the pulley while trying to hold it in place to remove the nut. Cast iron is fragile. I jammed a wrench on the nut and spinned the engine a second, it worked. Be sure to disconnect the distributor so the engine does not actually starts. Discussed here : https://pinzi-foru...

Re: Devil’s Advocate
... Let’s pretend I’ve got the intake manifold all fabbed up ... ... Indeed I think you cannot re-use the existing intake manifold, unless you use 2 of these Holley, but that's expensive Having an intake manifold custom made for this is likely to be expensive. But if you are going to pay that much ...
