I have never had the privilege of driving a 712 I can only hope to be lucky enough some day but I bet it would handle it a bit more gracefully

Back when I changed over to BFG muds from the Maloyas I tried pretty hard to talk Discount Tire to use the tubes in the BFG's. They absolutely refused, they said that the tubes could cause heat to build up in the tire at highway speeds and it would not be safe. I was not sure what the Pinz can do is...

Hi John, Thanks for the info I dis-mounted the fan shroud and found the mount that you were talking about. three out of the four ears were bad. basically the two top ears snapped off and one of the bottom ones then wore through. The second one on the bottom was just worn out of round but not clear t...

loose fan shroud

Hi Y'all I was doing some maintenance today and discovered that my fan shroud was loose. I didn't have time to tear into it further today. So I was wondering if anyone can tell me what holds it in place besides the two nuts at the bottom. I am guessing there is something under the engine shroud that...

I had some time to look at it more thoroughly tonight and it still looks in good shape to me. I was able to slide the brush end off enough to clean the armature with my fiberglass contact brush without having the brushes come completely off the armature. I did not feel any wobble in the shaft. I was...

Hi Peter, The starter when it did work it turned at a much slower rpm then it used to, sounding almost like low batteries but it has fresh fully charged batteries. More recently it would do nothing at all, no click no clunk and no spin. The dash lights would dim way down so I thought the starter was...

Hi All, I was hoping someone could help me a bit with removing the starter. Mine was real doggy and now it is not working all the time. I am having trouble getting a wrench on the top mounting bolt it looks like I need to remove the clutch slave cylinder or the gas tank to get at it. I would rather ...

This has been a very interesting and appropriate thread for me right now. I need to get new tires for my pinz. I have the BFG Mudders and they were great tires but I think I have only had them for two years and 8 months of that the pinz sat in the drive way with a twisted rear axel housing. So I was...

I was camping up at Camp Dick/ Peaceful Valley (Colorado) a few weeks ago and gentleman stopped by to talk to me and look at my pinz. He said that he has 12 zuki sammeys and 2 pinzgauers. He also said that one of his pinzgauers he swapped in a zuki engine and power steering. He claimed that it worke...

The anti diesel solenoids will have a differing effect on the engine depending on how the carbs are adjusted. It sounds like your carbs need to be synced if on solenoid kills and the rest reduced in RPM only. If you hear a click and you hear or see a reduction in rpm when you remove the wire the sol...

Hi Miles, I lost one about 3 years ago, The only place that I se that it can go is into the engine. My engine has been running fine since then though so I saw no need to go spending big $ to track it down. I had enough other opportunities to spend money on my truck. It was kind of funny when it happ...

I used two of the generic leather ones with the vinyl string wrapped around to hold it on. having the one on top of the other gets the wheel thick enough that I can grab it with my long fingers and it is also more spongy

works well for me and it is relatively cheap

It was the chicken tax that stopped the import of the VW bus pickup truck and why they are such a rarity in the US.
