Dear Jimmm. I have a problem following your logic. The oil breather hose located at the top of the oil filler tube vents into the air intake system. The intake system is operating at negative pressure so the positive pressure in the crankcase will vent into the induction system. Therefore if the bre...

Mysterious Oil clouds.

Yesterday I started my Pinz which had been sitting for about a week. The temp was 5 F. It started right up and after a minute of full choke I reduced the choke to about 1/3 and went back inside so as to let the engine warm up. About 15 minutes later I went outside and found that the motor had stoppe...

Dear Scott; You have asked a very good question. I bought a replacement MPH speedometer ( macho yellow faced ) from Cold War. My mechanic put the new one in, and it quit working after 100 miles. I just ignored the problem, and untill now have been happy to drive at zero MPH, and get zero MPG. My mec...

Speedometer gears, replacement.

My speedometer gave out. My mechanic told me that there were 2 parts that were worn out. One of them is about 3" long with a small plastic gear at one end. I will call this the pencil gear. The other part is a drive gear that fits in the front axle "pumpkin" housing. The pencil gear m...

I avoid using ethanol in my Pinz, and any other car of mine for the following reasons. 1) The Pinz has a ventilated gas tank and ethanol absorbs water. Hence you are going to get water in your tank which will foul or stall your engine. 2) Most all of the gas stations are required to have fiberglass ...

My M-12 has the original fuel gage. I discovered early on that the automatic fuel pump shut off nozzles at the gas stations activated way to soon. After the pump shuts off I can nurse another 4 gallons into the tank. When my gage points to the R mark, I can put in very close to 15 gallons. By the wa...

My question is, just what is the logic, science, of pouring water into an internal combustion engines intake system so as to remove carbon from the combustion chamber? Why not just save time and pour in fine sand, gravel, and square ball bearings? Am I missing something here, or is this another urba...

I have been around the block several times and up till now have never heard anything about using water as a means for de-carbonizing an engine.

I have always used the German method, ie. Full F'ing red lined, valve floating throttle.

I would appreciate hearing about the water method.

Dear Dennis; Baja is a different breed of cat even by Mexican standards. During my entire expedition I saw one Cop. His Blazer was broken down and I towed him some 20 miles to the nearest gas station/cantina. You will need Mexican auto insurance, a driver's license, Pesos, and a wad of Andrew Jackso...

Dear Dennis and Peter;

These sorts of wild-assed expeditions are things of beauty.

Ships weren't made so that they could stay in harbour.

A Pinz wasn't made to go grocery shopping.

Ding-Bat trips like this, are what make life interesting.

Sincerely,

William Curry ( Ding-Bat )

I drove my M-12 from Borrego Springs, Ca. to Cabo San Lucas and back, a lot of the time via not so well marked trails, and I thought it was an expedition. Compared to this guy, I hardly got over the county line. How many miles? How many days/months? This could be one hell of an interesting story. Is...
