Re: Seen in Venice, CA
In Venice... I'm surprised there isn't some white guy with dreadlocks living in the back of it already.

New Stereo/Tech for older cars
Maybe not for your average Pinzgauer or TGB, unless it's well insulated, but this could be cool for older cars of any kind. The stereo can separate from the head unit with a cable allowing you to mount the flat screen anywhere. I could have used this a few times over the years. https://jalopnik.com/...

I can see that! This was the more reliable, early model.David Dunn wrote: ↑Tue Jan 12, 2021 2:23 pmDefinitely a rare photo of the prototype of the Land Rover Discovery

Any interest in a 24v 8274 Warn winch?
I have the chance to do a rebuild on a rare 1980 8274 Warn winch. This is the same model the Trophy 712 race truck had on it, and is used worldwide as a serious winch. They have nothing in common with any other winch out there and stand alone in quality, serviceability, longevity and power. They als...

Re: Check in on my WINCH PAGE!
Yeah Superwinch is on a dangerous path at this point. I've always really liked their winches which had been made in the UK or here. My first winch was an "X-9" on my old Series Land Rover and it was a great, reliable unit for years (and I abused it). I think the last ones that came from the UK was t...

Re: An extinguisher for Christmas?!
For an auto/4x4 environment you want a 2.5lb or bigger BC unit. Amerex makes good ones that are widely available and affordable. About $60 gets a decent sized one charged up with "Purple K" which is widely used. Something is better than nothing though. A cheap ABC $28 version still works but there a...

Re: An extinguisher for Christmas?!
The Blazecut system is nice stuff and proven pretty well. There's some youtube vids of it working. I think they run around $200 usually. They make different models. Very popular in the VW world.

Thanks Jim.
I like to mount them so I can grab it while standing outside the driver's door.

Re: Check in on my WINCH PAGE!
I'm about to start work on a winch from 1980. This was actually the wire they were using! I can't imagine how little amperage was actually flowing around this thing!
Don't skimp on your wires and connectors!
