6x6 Camper project for sale in UK
Just to say thanks to you all for your help and advice on my camper project, sadly the vehicle is now up for sale (eBay Item 4606824595) owing to our development budget being eaten by my business partner's divorce :( I'm hoping to replace it with an 1111 in the Summer. Until then - enjoy your C3s, R...

Perish the thought....
If it's any help Cliff, the petrol feed pipe and in-line filter had been renewed on my 1314 when it arrived, so maybe worth checking, they often look OK but break up internally and clog the filter in my experience.

Volvo C3 Owners Club UK
Richard, I've never quite recovered from being club sec for the All Wheel Drive Club donkey's years ago... I know it's a lot of work, and I just don't have the time running my own company I'm afraid. But very happy to be a member and organise/compete in any trial or green laning the club might want ...

Hard copy manuals
Hi Cliff,
I have a parts manual for the C303 series I rescued from a burnt-out C306 years ago - bits (or all) of which can be photo-copied as needed.
Let me know,
Roy

UK C303 club
Richard, The pub meet should be interesting, you in Glasgow, Cliff in the Midlands and me down south will make the venue a tricky choice! :? I wonder if the All Wheel Drive Club still do 'heavy' trials ? maybe we could meet up at those - or organise our own of course! :P How many UK subscribers do w...

C306 top speed
My TGB1314A actually goes "off the clock" downhill (with a following wind!) on UK motorways - so exceeds 100kph (62.5 mph)!!. But you can't sustain that speed owing to the screams of pain coming from the mechanical fan/propshafts/tyres - not to mention the passenger! I know the C303/TGB11/...

Very nice work George, and all done in 4 days - outstanding! The more I drive the 1314, the more I think how nice it would be to graft that excellent walking beam back-end (TGB20 chassis) onto a Range Rover front end with the Volvo front axle under it's coil springs, with the 4.6 Rover V8 on...

Lighting updates
Just sourced all new road lights for the 1314, the rear reflectors were cracking and hazy, the headlamps were a bit dim and ill-defined beams. Local (UK) Hella agent sold me a pair of pattern rear lamps for £11 ($17) each with translucent panel under one for my rear number plate even. The H4 halogen...

Full lock Clunk
Anyone experienced a gentle 'clunk' on reaching full lock (in either direction)? My (5K miles!) 1314 does it, definitely not CV joints I should add, but especially noticeable 'in extremis' off-road or very low speed road/parking manouvering.... :?: Is it another case of "They all do that Sir&qu...

Re: More NVH
> A. Punt the fan. First job! > B. ....try... the quietest and most applicable for on-off road use (IMHO) the Goodyear Wranglers. You'll be amazed at the difference. I'll check and see if we can get the required size (37" seems about right with no diff changes - good job we're lowering the C o...

Camper shell for C306s
Phillip, Yes, I know of the material you mentioned as I believe its used by the folks at Earthroamer: http://www.earthroamer.com/main_truck/vehicle_4structure.html We will make the mould plug (basic shape) in our workshop and I have lined up a boat builder to make the mould and produce the first she...

Alternate drivetrains & other improvements first
Before launching into a 'heart lung transplant' (!) I'll start with the NVH reduction (Noise,Vibration,Harshness) program Phillip. As the C3 was bought to provide a basis for a world trip offroad camper, with high roadmileage planned, we need to make some basic improvements first, though the weekend...

Transmission/tyre noise
Hi Phillip, Yes, my own experience (albeit only with Haflingers) would confirm the relative quiet of hub reduction gears, but as the C3's are so much bigger (not to mention transmitting 5 times the torque!) I was unsure. I still plan to give them a good dose of Molyslip - can't hurt! With the 6 whee...

Water pump - sorted
Thanks to your posts, Colin and I were able to re-install the water pump successfully first time, following the tips from you guys on the list - what a great resource this is - thankyou Vince. Definitely best to refit the small pipe (routed under the exhaust manifold) into the pump BEFORE offering t...

Lubricate that racket away?
Has anyone experimented with different lubes for the hub reduction gears in an effort to reduce their howling on the road?
I was wondering if maybe a Moly-based additive would help in that department - same question for the gearbox & tfr box too ??
