Both of them failed on the rear most. On the front, the outer was starting to get soft when poked with a screwdriver. The inner was still solid.

Yes the spring had slid all the way up and it was leaning. Thats how I found the damage. The repair was not hard once the bolts broke loose. SAV had the parts in stock and the whole job took less than 2 hours including clean up. I took the truck out last night and it rode like new. I did do both of ...

I just found the disc and was getting the part numbers. Thanks for the quick response! I will be doing both on this side now and will probably do the other side later to be safe. Happy Holidays!

Rear Spring Upper Cup Failure

My rear most spring has pushed through the upper cup and is now about 1.5 inches more extended than the other. It is still tightly held in and has not been making any noise. I have no idea how long it has been like that and it drives and rides well. Has anyone had this failure and can tell me what i...

Six Speed beat me to posting about this. The Florida Steel Soldiers Rally is always a great event. This year they are planning a second one in the spring and I would love to see the Pinzgauers out number the US stuff! This event is in a great part of the state for going trail riding (showing most of...

It was a great weekend! I was not able to bring my Pinz as I was on kitchen duty most of the weekend but I did get to ride through the mud hole in Alan's Pinz. The EFI made a huge difference in the way a Pinz performs. Herb took me for a ride in the Green Pickle and all I can say WOW! I have never b...

Take the Pinz and show them what they should have bought!! A Pinz will go anywhere a Xterra will go and then a few hundred miles farther down the trail. A Pinz will go most anywhere you point it.

Here in Florida we regularly take our Pinz's swimming. They will go up to the headlights for short periods of time when stock. I have seen water pour in the windows with a snorkel. Rick over in St. Pete made up snorkels for quite a few trucks, mine included. He turned the original air canister 180 d...

Chuck, Use brake fluid, make sure that bleed out the system of all the old gunk. Locker system uses brake fluid also and you need to bleed (change) it every year.

Pinz vs. Volvo

Welcome to the madness! I believe that you will be much happier with a Pinzgauer that a Volvo. There are few parts left for the Volvo. The Pinzgauer parts are available and they are very easy to work on. I have a M and love the ability to roll up the sides. I live in Florida (it was almost 90 yester...

Down here in Florida all we have to play in is mud and water. No hills or rocks to climb. Since we spend so much time in the water, I know exactly what you are going through. When you dunk the wheels under the drums fill up with water and the fine silt that was in suspension and it can not get back ...

Mike has now set up a way to reserve (pay for tickets) to the 2008 Florida Rally. Use this link http://www.odiron.com/store/product_info.php?cPath=41&products_id=629 . Cost is $10 a head and that will help pay for everything. This was a great time last year and we expect to have more Pinzgauers ...
