Re: Buying a C304.

Ooh....bead locks would be a great accessory!!! Only down side would be in buying 6 of them. LOL
When I go up to the mountains here there are a lot of inclines so having the diesel should, in theory, help to maintain a decent speed so as not to be plowed into from behind

Re: Buying a C304.

MogMan: GPS for both speed and fuel efficiency calculations. We're having some issues with the odometer's trip system, plus with these tires the odometer is completely miscalculating everything. I attribute the better milage to my light foot - I've spent most of my life trying to coax every last dr...

Re: Buying a C304.

Your mileage does seem rather good, did you take into account the larger tire size which affects the odometer reading? Not trying to bust any happy bubbles, just curious. As for the top speed, I assume you used a GPS to clock it? That is really a good clip, WAY better than the Pinz that I ...

Re: Buying a C304.

Jim, I am not sure if that is the same one but I will be sure to check things out when and if I get to drive it and inspect it further. The guy that has it did tell me that the shifter is all messed up with the cables and that he planned to modify them with a heim joint or something. I really need t...

Jim, Thanks for the info. I am glad to hear about the OD unit and I will be sure to get one IF I find/buy a 6x6. I am ok with the 50mph cruising but I seriously hate hitting a slight hill and losing speed like nobody's business!!! Very frustrating. I just want reliability, a bit more oomph, and the ...

I think I want ALL foreign Military Vehicles...... at first

So, it started with the UNIMOG. I had to have one and so I did my research, went to EI to check them out and then my wife fell in love with a Pinz 710k!!! So we got one. It was great at first until we started going through fuel like no tomorrow. Scott being the great guy he is, took it back with no ...

Volvo 6x6. TGB-20, TGB 13xx, Volvo Sugga TP-21

I have a great 710M Pinz but I think that I would like to have any one of these Volvo's to use as an off-road/Camper project for me and the family. I am in New Mexico and would appreciate any info/direction that anyone can offer. Anyone know of any Sugga TP-21's in the USA? My wife wants one pretty ...

Alan, That is some good info and I appreciate you posting it! My wife and I are trying to make our 710m more effecient and nicer to drive and EFI and maybe the 2.7l upgrade so far seem like the way we want to go. I hate the gas smell in the cab (even after carb rebuild and sync!) and I hate wasting ...

EFI

I have been off the board for a while now so I am a little out of the loop. What EFI systems are there on the market and how much do they run? How "bolt-on" are they? What sort of MPG increase is everyone seeing in general? Thanks.

Phil

24 to 12V Converter install

Hello all, I have just bought a 24v to 12v converter to install in my 710M and have never done it before. I have three wires, red (power), black (ground) and white ("connect to the LOAD(s)"). Can someone draw me a little schematic showing how this will be done as I am electronically challe...

Mickey Thompson Radial MTZ

Well, I finally got rid of the Maloyas and upgraded to an 265/75R16 Mickey Thompson Radial MTZ with bead balancers (8 oz. per tire). WOW! What a difference. On the way home my wife and I were able to talk to eachother at a reasonable volume and MANY of the vibration noises were gone. The truck rides...

Ok, I mis-worded things by saying a change in power. What I meant was any change in acceleration or greater loss of speed on inclines. I am about to order a set of tires next week and am stuck between the TSL Radials or the Trxus (they are radials, right?). I have already ordered the balancing beads...
