The VDO electronic speedo has a trip ODO. The button selects between the regular ODO and the trip ODO. And I had no trouble calibrating it to my 285/75R16 tires. I am using a GM sender but I had to machine an adaptor to fit the front diff.

I think the easiest red brake light conversion is the dual filament sockets from SAV and just move the wire from the top socket to the extra post on the bottom one. It makes both turn and stop red so the amber part of the lens isn't used but it looks totally stock.

Rather than drawing heavy loads from the lower battery and using an equalizer to bring them back in ballance, I use an additional 12 volt battery and CHARGE it with the equalizer.
