Re: Rubbing strip removal
I thought about square tube but there was a possibility of debris accumulating there so the 'C' channel was the obvious choice. I did the replacement at a time when I had no welder to cap the ends of tube. Also thought about replacing the rail with the wood but it was a constant replacement situatio...

Re: Rubbing strip removal
I replaced my wood rail with a 2 inch 'C' channel and used 1/8 washers to stand it off from the body. Only one screw refused to be removed so I drilled it out an in the body it stayed, who is going to notice one more rattle on this thing? I had sheet alu bent to form a shelf and used that for a tabl...

Re: Removing the passenger side windows - problem
I have a set od the original window rails that I am willing to let go very cheap as I have sold my pinz and have no reason to hold on to them. Let me know if anyone is interested in them.

Re: Parking Brake Malfunction...Slipping Handle
I did not take the handbrake apart in the cabin, I fixed the brake assembly in the wishes hat and that fixed the part in the cabin. there is a fill port in the brake cable in the cabin that accepts oil for the cable for lubrication. Maybe a little oil down the shaft once in a while.

Re: Engine Oil... Again
I only ever used Pennzoil SAE 30 in my Pinz, winter and summer. Never had an issue. Mine was 1967 710M

Re: Parking Brake Malfunction...Slipping Handle
The park brake is very interesting. Mine was not holding so I took ir completely apart, cleaned everything I could with brake cleaner (also used it on my brakes) returned it to original looks. Worked fine, don't forget the twists. I had also bought the replacement discs and gave them to the buyer wh...

Re: Rubbing strip removal
Yes several that had to be drilled stayed in the hollow of the tube, no way to get them out.
the pinz makes so much noise anyway that one more rattle isn't going to be noticed although I did not notice the pieces of the drilled out bolt making noise.

Re: Where is the ballast resistor?
When I had the pinz I had a few extra parts. Fan belt, voltage regulator, ballast resistor, fuel pump, wiper blades, oil & filter, tire plugs, various bulbs, pertonix coil, rotor & cap and a few other thing that I can't remember right now. I did keep up maintenance to avoid needing them but ...

Try silicon sealant and paint over them, unless you think there is a use for them.

Re: Soft top cleaning
I had the original type top and every year I would take it off, spread it in the driveway (after washing the concrete) and brush it with dish soap, hose it off and then spray it with 303. Kept it looking good for ten years.

Re: engine swaps...????
I was toying with the idea of improving the pinz engine with just an upgrade to the pistons and cam but to only gain a bit more power it seemed to be wrong to change it and money not well spent. Deciding to have a vehicle that went faster and had a bit more luxury, I sold the pinz to a new proud own...

Re: Brake Lights stay on
When you switch to LED bulbs keep in mind they have a lower current draw and things may not work as you plan. May have to change the flasher unit. I avoided that issue by just adding the LED lights to the existing circuit and left the existing tail lights in place. I drilled out the place for the re...
