If anyone is looking for some REALLY good bead locks for the stock rims, please reply to this thread or P.M. me. I've been in close communication with the U.S. Staun rep and he's put me in touch with a reseller who can deliver them for a very, VERY good price. The problem is that 16 x 6 1/2 inch is ...

I have the BFG Mud Terrain's in the 255/85-16 and absolutely love 'em. Compared to the Maloya's... well... there's really no comparison! They have an aggressive tread for off-roading, but don't add as much noise as I was expecting. But then again, the truck makes enough noise on it's own that any ex...

Hey Miles, Kudos on this new resource! This is something that's been needed for quite some time. The yahoo groups photo gallery was okay, but too difficult to find what you're looking for. This is super! Thanks for taking the time to put it together. A lot of times people don't understand how much t...

On the topic of door locks... Has anybody here ever come up with some type of conversion to make the door locks automatic? (like with a remote?) I've got a K, and it would be sooo nice to just hit the clicker, rather than walking around the whole truck to unlock everyone's door when I've got passeng...

I'm Surprised AK_Nimrod hasn't chimed in yet. He's been putzing around Alaska in -20F. As others have said, the truck will do just fine. (Air-cooled engines are a beautiful thing) The advice from Jacques holds true: You will be much more comfortable if you can isolate the cab. Also: Try to plug ANY ...

Doug, That was my main concern as well, because I do a fair amount of trails in the summer. Nothing too extreme, but enough rocks that I have my doubts as to how they'll hold up. I guess time will tell. Since I use it a lot in the winter, I figured I'd error on the side of safety. The siping didn't ...

I'm Running BF Goodrich Radial Mud Terrain's 255 85 R16 I wasn't able to tell a huge difference in the cars/SUV's we've had siped, but it was pretty evident in the Pinz that it's helping hold the road better. Discount Tire sold me the tires and did the after-market siping. I've had the same experien...

Tire siping
A while back (last summer, before the hacks to the forum), I posted a thread about whether or not I should sipe my tires. You see, I live in the mountains and my road is 2 miles of uphill, snow-packed ice until mid-April or May. (Probably June this year  ) The general consensus was not to do it...
