back to stock

Thank you, Sir. Is GL-5 used because GL -4 is so scarce these days?

Oil Change (Back to Stock)

Gents,

At one point I switched to GL-5 for the wheel reduction units and now I'd like to go back to GL-4.

Will this create any problems?

Thanks,

Steve

Ayep! Slid twice on refreeze. Almost like the black ice I once encountered in Wyoming ('nother story). Each time, when I let off the brake I straightened right out (darn Maloyas!). Never had a problem in snow, especially last year!

Jim,

Thank you, Sir! The rear plug was slightly loose.
There is still a small amount of sound (about 1/4 of what was there before), so I will try your exhaust suggestion next.
Thanks again!

Exhaust Noise???

Sir,
Thanks for the quick reply.
I'll check the plugs this afternoon!
The noise does not present itself when stopped...only when in motion, and revving the engine or while at idle (stopped) does not create this particular sound.
Thanks again.

Exhaust Noise???

I humbly present this to the forum for consideration and advice... Lately I've noticed a fast, "thwipity, thwipity, thwipity" sound from my 712M. From previous (non-Pinz) related experience, I thought that it might be a cage bearing, or a U-joint going out. A neighbor who has a nice collec...

Erik, I'll have you know that it's 2 miles, one way! That 3/4" difference in tread depth is a bit bothersome. I probably won't be able to spring for a new set until next spring and was hoping to make the swap and get by on the cheap. I will leave them as they are until I get some feedback...

Dave, Nancy, Welcome! :D Crawl under the rear of your truck, and just in front of the pintle hitch, you'll see a long spring and a metal bar. The switch is activated when the bar placement is changed by pulling the parking brake lever. Spray a liberal amount of WD-40, apply a toothbrush to the littl...

swap

All, I want to thank everyone that posted on this subject. I guess it didn't register that the stock Maloya's weren't DOT approved (or so dangerous). Mine have been in daily use for the better part of a year now, and have given me absolutely no trouble in rain, snow or ice. Now I'm going to ask what...

left to right swap

I've looked through the archives and couldn't find anything on the subject, so... Gents, What is a general opinion about swapping out the tires, left side to right, and vice versa? There's about 3/4" difference in tread depth on each tire. Yes, I'm still running the original Maloyas. Hoping to ...
