Blown out headlights

I recently took my 710m out for a drive with my 4 yr. old son to run some errands in the evening. After stopping at the local home improvement store, I started the engine, turned on the lights (which I usually just leave on the Hi beam setting). When I put it in gear and gave it some gas to take off...

Re: Front camber?

I have recently developed the same problem, but my doors are perfectly aligned. Nothing seems broken or out of whack. Still runs and drives fine, but its driving me nuts. Looks just like the pic of the Pinz with the aired down tires. I'm hoping I just need new springs?

I run a Mile Marker SE9500C which is a 24v. The rule of thumb is usually go 1.5 times the weight of your vehicle for a winch. As far as cable vs. synthetic I couldn't tell you. I've only used cable. The 9500C (which has been replaced by the SEC 9.5) Has 100 ft of cable, I would recommend at least th...

How are the cylinders sealed into the lower? Is there a gasket, some kind of sealant, or just friction fit? I'm pretty sure its metal to metal. When I was having problems with my pinz, Jim replied to a post and if I remember right, they get sealed with Permatex aircraft grade sealant. We use this s...

That's what I've been thinking. I've found alot of reviews on the internet and found only one negative one. I've been researching them pretty hard for awhile now and I think I'm going to go with the GPS Map 60 CSX. Newegg.com has them for $309.99. I have found them cheaper on the internet, but that ...

When I first joined this forum, I had alwas read "welcome to owning a Pinz" or something close to it. Now I think I get it. It feels awesome to get it running right and even though it took me so long, to know that I fixed it myself. This thing has really given me an education. I'm glad I h...

GPS question

I was looking a getting a new GPS. I'm looking for one that has trail and road functions. I was looking at the Garmin GPS Map 60CSx. It has all of the trail and off road functions, and the turn by turn road capabilities(which I believe the maps need to be purchased and downloaded). Just wondering wh...

Finally

Well as alot of you know I've been having alot of trouble with my rig for a while now. After trying a ton of different things, from putting new valve seals on the heads, to rebuilding the fuel pump and carbs, endlessly looking for vaccum leaks, ect. ect. ect. Well, while trying to get the carbs and ...

Thanks for the tip, I'll give that a shot. I'm not sure if that is the problem. After searching the archives, most of the posts mentioned that with worn spindles, it was usually hard to get the carbs to sync and I'm not having that problem at all.
Thanks again,
Spence

Another Carb question

I was working on the Pinz trying to set the timing and carbs. I know there has been alot of talk about the spindles on the butterfly of the carbs needing to be re-bushed. I took the linkages off of the carbs and wiggled the spindle where the linkages attach and there was some play in both of them, n...

Where to go from here

I just recently took my heads off to install some intake valve seals with the hope that this would fix my engine problems,(missing, which I thought may be caused by fouled plugs) I put the heads back on, re adjusted the valves, replaced the plugs, set the timing to 7* btdc, synchronized the carbs to...

timing again

I found in the archives that 7* btdc is the max running regular gas. I'll give it a shot.

timing again

Could someone tell me what the correct ignition timing would be for my pinz? I have a Pertronix and run regular fuel. I thought there was a post with the info but I can't seem to find it.
Thanks,
Spence

exhaust manifold

Just wondering if someone could tell me what the torque spec is on the exhaust manifold nuts??? I can't find it in the service manual other than the torqe for the bolt size, but with all of the heat, I thought it might be different.
Thanks

As I was looking at my heads, I don't see any seals on the top of the intake guides, Both the intake and exhaust valves look the same, and I can only see what I think is the tops of the valve guides. so I take it that my valves never had seals??? Is this pretty common, and could this be part of my p...
