I'm still here. Haven't heard from Dangerous Dan but places like Cardwell, Tully and Innisfail have got hit hard. It's still a Cat 2/3 cyclone and continuing westward over land.

I'll cheer you up a bit. 28.44 MPG(US) converts to 34.16 MPG (UK) :D or 8.27 litres per 100 Kms. My 80 Series LandCruiser Deisel is getting about 12 Litres per 100 Kms  . Going by the brochure I have for the Haflinger it states that it's fuel consumpion is 33-35 MPG. You should be quite happy ...

Looks like your spending more time at rebuilding your haf than what I'm spending on mine  . I'm down in the mackay region and should take the time to come and get some pointers. Mine was in much better condition than what your's looks to have been as someone had started to rebuild it prior to ...

Steve, The engine number is 5362991 and the chassis number is 5361250. I have had a bit of feedback from Haflinger Technik and they beleive it to be 1969 or 1970. The reason that I am trying to find out is because the VIN plate is missing. I was told by the person I bought it from that it was a 1966...

Steering Bos Info

:( Still trying to work out the year of my Haflinger. I have found a decal on the side of the steering box which has the Fabr Nr. as 534249 7 69. Would that mean that the steering box was made in July 1969 and does this line up with the Haflinger year model? Any info would be muchly appreciated. Tha...

I used to have a cast version of the Hi-Lift jack but replaced it with the normal steel version. I had been using the jack as a winch trying to retreive my 4x4 and broke both the lifting tongue and top loop off  . I've had no trouble doing the same with the normal steel version.
