Horn Mounting

Hi All I have replaced all of my sound deadening (with Megasorber) In doing so I took the horn off. Now I have finished the job I couldn’t remember exactly how it went back but I have bolted the 3 springy strips to the back of the horn and at the bottom to the angle bracket. Trouble is the horn tilt...

Re: Flushing Hydraulics

Thanks guys. Pretty much my thoughts exactly. When I read it I thought it was a bit strange. Good advice about the reservoirs I will make sure I check them.

Thanks again

Flushing Hydraulics

Hi All I am going to flush my whole hydraulic system and replace new fluid. I read somewhere to use spirit to do this prior to re-filling. Does this sound like it makes sense? I was thinking methylated spirit what do you think? Or is there some off the shelf product that does this job? Thanks Chaps ...

Re: Locker/4x4 slave cylinders

Thanks for the reply. I have the slave cylinders off and I am trying to push the pistons back in the bores but they are really tight. I can get them in but they are really stiff to push in and out and I think this cant be right. I have just had a thought could the seals have swelled up? I have used ...

Locker/4x4 slave cylinders

Hi All I have removed my 6 wheel drive and locker cylinders (4 of them), There were no leaks so I have cleaned them up a treat. Now I am re-installing the pistons and they seem really tight. I have smeared the barrels and pistons well with plenty of fluid so I am pretty sure it’s not that. I seem to...

Re: Leaking Hub

What parts do I need for the job? I am going to buy 2 spacers and I know I will need 2 o-rings. Is there anything else? I seem to remember another plastic ring in the images.

Re: Leaking Hub

Thanks for the input. It is gear oil for certain I think the gasket (or seal) on the onboard side is shot. This is allowing oil to leak along the bolt hole to the inside of the drum. That is why there is a lot more fluid and it is higher up on the inboard side. I am hoping it is not the hub seal as ...

Re: Leaking Hub

Here are some images. The hub on the inside is dry you can see the seal weeping on the inside of the shield. Outside the area around the hub is dry the oil seems to be coming from the bolt that goes through to the inside. What do you reckon? [url=https://ibb.co/k1z66b][img]https://preview.ibb.co/bXi...

Leaking Hub

Hi All I have a leaky front hub on close inspection it looks like it is leaking from the joining face of the castings rather than from the hub sal. Is this common and do you think I may be able to get away with dissassembling cleaning ad reassembling using some aviation sealant? Thanks in advance Sam

Steering wheel restoration

Hi All

Has anyone restored a steering wheel successfully? Mine is badly chipped and generally scabby. A professional restoration costs a fortune. Does anyone have any advice?

Thanks

Front half axles

I hope there is an obvious answer to this. I have just removed both front wheel drives by splitting the axles. I have them stood upright on the wheel studs and the drive shafts are sticking up. When I turn the splined end of one the hub moves as you would expect, the other feels like it is locked. C...

Re: Splitting Axle

Thanks Guys

Is the chisel a magic little tool or will any cold chisel do?

If it is special I may make one if I can get specs.
