Body repair - rust removed, advice needed
I have worked on a whole bunch of different vehicles before, but never had the pleasure of repairing rusted areas of body work. In the front corner near the door I have ground all the rust - it was about 1/2" thick. This is what I am left with : https://scontent-sin1-1.xx.fbcdn.net/hphotos-xpa1...

Re: Sources for Hub Steps
I was thinking about making some hub steps - any advice on metal thickness to use so that there is enough clearance between the hub and the wheel? thank you all! You can get some play-doh and put it on the hub. Put the wheel back on and tighten the lug nuts. Then remove again and measure the thickn...

Is the return for heating the intake manifold or for EGR? Either way it's not wanted in most of Oz.TechMOGogy wrote:they blocked off the exhaust returns on the intake manifold.
Is that common in Australian versions of the Pathfinder's?

Re: Connecting rod length
If you want to get heat to the cat you could try ceramic coating the manifold and exhaust system that is in front of the cat. Not sure how much of a good idea this is on an air cooled engine though. Other options is the thermal wrap which is at least easily reversible. But it can trap moisture in an...

Re: Turn signal switch smoking
Sounds like an earthing problem. If you turn signal switch has failed then it could be shorting out.Brickren wrote:While applying brakes, My left front turn signal comes on. Could this be the cause or result of turn signal switch failure?
Try disconnecting the turn signal and then applying the brakes.

Good luck with the sale. I will bump your ad to top and post your pics if you explain what you mean by heavy duty front bumper from Saudi Arabia? Do you just mean the one piece design instead of the two 'bumperettes'? Heavy duty front bumper from Saudi Arabia Pinz, and original bumpers. http://imagi...

Re: Speedo needle bouncing
They make cable spray lubricant for motorcycles, wonder if this could be used instead of pulling out the cable? They can be a bear to get back in their sheaths and you can fray them pretty easy, at least on same vintage bikes. Though, no experience with pinz speedo cables, just thinking out loud. M...

Re: LED Headlights randomly going out
By process of elimination, you could put the original lights back in.
If they are playing up it would be a wiring issue.
If they work perfectly it would be more to do with the LEDs and the low currents as mentioned above.
Hope you haven't thrown the originals out

I thought that was their latest military vehicle... probably would get more guys to join up! Don't they have some exotic police cars as well in the middle east? Yes, my kids got to see the Corvette belonging to the fire brigade last week. They even got to sit in it and rev the engine. The boot (tru...
