My mother's maiden name was MacRae and some how related to Jock who rebuilt the castle.
A whole bunch of them immigrated to Australia, I have some clan tartan in a box somewhere.

Also, as per this thread, the standard wheel nuts are conical, not tapered. Be sure to use the correct nuts for whatever your wheel builder is making.

A 'standard' M14 pitch is M14 x 2, a fine thread is M14 x 1.5.GenevaPinz wrote:Always be careful if you're ever shopping for lug nuts, 1.5 is not the standard thread for M14.
Fine threads in metric are not used much in industrial situations, more common in automotive.

Re: Removing Rear Panel
So I had another go at it, trying to find some spade terminals. Pulled the light housing apart with a screw driver, to get the rubber seals out. Found this : https://fbcdn-sphotos-g-a.akamaihd.net/hphotos-ak-xft1/v/t1.0-9/1909821_10154146806457289_7061822449813655162_n.jpg?oh=ced8cd9c570fefceb34ca0d...

If you are short on cash you can liberate two milk crates, cut them up into 5 squares and zip tie them into a foldable long mat

Re: rims and tires
Was looking at the goat works site and saw a picture there of a prototype Pinzgauer rim with the brake adjustment holes in them - was trying to remember who mentioned this idea and the concern about cracks forming... The trail ready rims seems to provide access to the brake adjustment hole if they ...

Thanks Albert.
Will have another look.
In my defense all my work is done at night outside my house with a LED work lamp.

Interesting. Seems like a lot of work though, though maybe someone found discs with the same bolt centres as the petrol Pinzs.

Removing Rear Panel
Just wondering if anyone has has this issue before, or if I am missing something? :?:  :? I have removed my rear door and the top hoop for the canvas. Right side panel came off, but the electrical wires for the number plate lamp are stopping me from removing the left panel that the top hinge f...

Hard to see from your pics but I think the indents you mention are recesses for the studs that hold the gasket in place.
Don't think you will get the butterfly off with special tools to press in new rivets. I just cleaned around mine.

Re: Body repair - rust removed, advice needed
Thanks for the tips fellas.
Only stopped grinding there because I ran out of wire wheel, it was late and I had my wobbly sandles on.
The other side is less rusty so I keep that intact for now to take reverse measurements from.
Cheers,
Mick

Re: Reasonably priced 24V winch?
I downloaded a catalogue from a tractor parts supply shop called Sparex and they had one listed.
www.sparex.com
Couldn't find it on my mobile device. They have outlets in USA as well as UK.
Truck/tractor shops will be cheaper than a 4x4 shop as they don't have the 'hobby customer' markup.
