If you pick it up, stop by San Bernardino on the way home to Stockton. I can tell you the most cost effective direction. Bring a memory stick

There are alignment arrows stamped on both parts(all years), usually covered in a dab of red or white paint.

Replace the o rings on the apply pin and sleeve, inspect for melted or loose locker switch(they leak if loose).

Re: mixing oil
The Pinz engine can drink those low weight oils, thinner oil goes down the valve guides easier and faster.
20-50 is the thinnest mix used in most air cooled applications.

Re: Rear wheels locked
Just loosen the rear boy mounts till the last few threads, remove rear body mount bolt(24mm nut on top), lift body with jack, pull tail cone in pieces, end first. The discs have most likely rusted to the facings as is a common fault.

Re: Calico Mogfest 2014 Oct 10th to 12th
Mogfest was excellent this year. Joe O brought out his Frankenstein Mog, there were a few VW Syncro's ,1 VW Thing, 6 Pinzgauers, a few Unimogs(even a U1017A with camper), Dave had the Green Grail (718K) with him, a couple jeeps and my Haflinger!
Fun was had by all.
I will get some pictures up soon.
