I think they do that to get the Mercedes "searches."

Re: Good news, bad news - soft top 710M
I would look around for a canvas repair person before I would go all out and buy a new top. My top is old and tired, but it keeps the rain out and my canvas lady only charged me $110 IIRC for all new windows all around and an extended flap to cover my Rapier Barn doors. Her work was flawless and in...

He hasn't posted recently on the Ural forum. His last was in October of last year. He was doing better after visiting Cancer Centre of America, IIRC.

Re: Oil on the brake shoes - what are the usual suspects?
Evan, read my write up: http://real4x4forums.com/PinzgauerBBS/viewtopic.php?t=8356 . I did both my rear seals AND bearings...while I was in there you know... ;) ...You also do not need to know which seals you currently have before ordering. My truck had the older 60mm rings, and I installed the newe...

Perhaps you could document the work and add it to the tech sessions.....

Re: Leaving ignition switch on with Pertronix
My 710M has been converted to Pertronix and somehow I am under the impression that the ignition switch shouldn't be left on for more than about 20 seconds without starting the engine or the Pertronix module might fail. True or False? (I could have been told this by Thilo, from whom I bought the tru...

SDP Vinyl Window Gauge
Does anyone know the gauge, or thickness of the SDP vinyl windows in the soft top?
I am looking at Marine materials and 40g seems right, or at least suitable for me to sew in myself.
Thanks guys!

Thanks Undysworld, I'll check the air intakes - and will update my findings here :) Perhaps a new thread to update? Kinda a highjack when someone posts about an issue they are having and another, perhaps similar or different issue, interrupts the OP and muddies the water. Just saying . Sent from my...

Re: 12v winch
What sort of mount did you use? A custom bumber or plate that goes into the front pin? I don't have any pictures of mine but it was very similar to what Andre posted. I had a good customer of mine make it for me here locally. Here is one.... http://img.tapatalk.com/d/14/08/18/2y9apyvu.jpg Sent from...

Re: Big smoke, big oil mess, big problem! Advice/confirmati
I am interested to see if your Petronix is installed "the wrong way," like mine was. No real issue when installing the civi kit though. How did you realize it was wrong? I'm curious, might wanna check mine.... tx Dave Something to do with the red wire. Scott advised me. Not ideal, but fun...

Re: Big smoke, big oil mess, big problem! Advice/confirmati
on another side note, I ordered the civilian ignition kit from Scott yesterday...figured it was time...... Had the Pertronix installed when I bought it, but nothing else. This should smooth things out once it's running good again. I am interested to see if your Petronix is installed "the wrong...
