my humble opinion is, keep it ( kids grow incredibly fast ) or trade it in for a 712

Just to be clear this is located on the tube just before the rear diff. Or to put it another way it's located on the tube between the front and rear diff. there is an upgrade available; a different lid you can connect a breathing tube to.
this prevents pressure build up inside the tube

have you checked the fuel level in the carbs. maybe too low....

What kind of problems do you anticipate ?
I sometimes take my 6x6 to the proverbial ice cream shop.
