Re: Jack Stand Cribbing

ok so yours are 24" with 10 teeth showing (and I figure an 1" per tooth)

Re: Jack Stand Cribbing

Can you (or anyone) post the height of stands required to lift tires a couple inches off the ground (like in picture stiffler4444 posted)? (I know it depends on tire size but looking for a general number here so I can take advantage of a jack stand sale on this week and I see that stiffler has wood ...

Re: Jack Stand Cribbing

At some point I want to tackle my diff seals and I want to ensure the truck is properly supported, as it may sit like that for a while. I discovered that many guys use a cribbing of either 12" pieces of 2x4 or 4x4, screwed together, and the stands on top. What do you guys think? This is a roug...

Re: Test Drive

Land Rover used to have short test tracks setup at their dealerships. When I purchased my Disco back in 98 in Dallas - we went to the back of the lot (I wondered where we were going) and there was a small opening in the trees, we ended up going down a nice steep hill, into some flats with ruts and m...

Re: Jack Stand Cribbing

I think your on the right track
4x4's with solid 2x tops but I would lag everything together for better shear strength.
I would also make the bottom solid so it is stable in all directions

Just making up my new rear seat cushions and thought I would share this drawing I made (with help from others plus my own measurments).
