Front axle and Locker Engagement
This might end up in the technical section but we are doing some rearranging and sorting in the warehouse with containers of parts and trucks coming in and dug this out of a crate. Even though it has been a while since we moved still have not found everything. In case you don't recognize since a lot...

Re: Military vehicle Event
Have been to a few over the years normally at the Tower Park in Lodi, CA. Don't recall it being in Petaluma before but we are planning one or two trucks on display. Below was from the larger MVCC meeting in Alameda Fairgrounds in August 2016.

Re: Slit boots rotting
Take 10-15 minutes and peak under your truck. Check your shock bolts, limit straps, shifter linkages, axle boots, etc, etc. People have fallen prey to the cheap or old boots. They help keep the dirt off the diff wipe seals and out of the differential. Better to fix a small problem before it becomes ...

If you are in CA and want a grey market/direct import truck even if it meets Federal exemption do your due diligence before you purchase and try to register in CA. Just purchased over 20 vehicles and not a single one can be legally titled and registered in the state of CA. Search: CA Residents This ...

Re: "Banging" sound when starting?
Post up some photo's of your ring gears on the flywheels. I am unaware of 2 styles of ring gears. There is only 1 ring gear that I am aware of. The stock ring gear is directional and I have seen them put on backwards where the straight cut gear is facing the starter.....which is a big no no...... Ch...

Re: "Banging" sound when starting?
These starters are fully warrantied from the manufacturer, and to date we have had very few issues with a bit over 300 units in the marketplace. I'm a bit amazed when people buy a $500 starter, have an issue and will not return the starter. It usually means that modifications have been made or somet...

Re: Would this VIN plate draw attention?
Thats is NOT the Vin plate. Simply an additional ID tag, which does look suspect. As long as it has the original Vin tag under the seat, and the matching vin stamped on the tube it should be ok. Over the years there have been various companies that tried to "cook the books" and import or r...

712 Camper / Troop Conversion - 2.7L - High Speed Gearing
CA LEGAL 712M Multi-Use Camper EI was the original importer of this unique 712M. It was sold to a helicopter mechanic and pilot who built it into his dream truck. It is extremely unique, and extremely versatile. When we picked this vehicle up we did a 120 mile test drive. It runs very smooth and ver...

712M/Camper Speed Freaks wanted
So you have the dream a 70 mph, 712 Camper. Your dreams have come true. Picked up a consignment Pinzgauer and it is by far one of the fastest 712's we have driven that is not insanely modified. Sporting a 2.7 motor, 710 T-case, 33" tires and possible TD transmission, but need to verify. Pulling...

Don't know if you are running a Swiss or Austrian truck. There is a pretty detailed photo file of an Austrian 710K linked in our Pinzgauers for Sale section. Lots of prep work! NOT. The boys picked the truck up during the week, drove it to the PNW and competed that weekend. From what I understand it was a bit more of a support capacity.......

Re: A big thanks to Expedition Imports (Scott)
Turned out to be a frozen (nearly frozen) sector shaft gear in the steering box. Thru the process we got some new data points on the electric power steering. #1 - You need to have a good/excellent steering gearbox to start with. If not, rebuild prior to installing the steering system. #2 - The unit ...

Re: 712K on Jay Leno's Garage
A LOT of that episode ended up on the cutting room floor when they needed to focus in on Jays unexpected rollover in the same episode. Only a certain amount of time total and when something like that happens, it gets the air time. As originally filmed there was a ton more airtime on all 3 vehicles, ...

Yes, but YOU are saving the environment. With that "Vapor Recovery System" and "Anti-Tipover Valve" the world is a safer place. Unfortunately, as vendors we can no longer purchase the Wavian cans by themselves as the "system" requires sale of the special nozzle wi...
