Fuel filter

While working on the pinz this weekend to try and track down the eratic idle question I discovered the possible reason. Fuel filter. Do not know when it was last replaced or by whom, but the pinz seems to run much better after replacing it. The filter always looked good when I changed the oil or jus...

PAINT

I carry a rattle can of olive camo paint from Ace hardware to spray over scratches that I discover on the pinz. Not a perfect match, as it is slightly more flat that the pinz color, but it helps to avoid rusting the scratched area.

CALICO

There was a question earlier of OHV permits. Go to the Calico website and it will be expained. Licensed street legal vehicles are ok. If you are not street legal, then you will need a OHV permit. Call the ranger at Calico. ...also call the Ghost town for reservations for campsites. Don't bother with...

PINZ FUEL

Thanks Charles. I really do not want to experiment. I really like my pinz the way it is...and try to take care of it as best as I can. ...so, in the final analysis...Don't do that. I can live with that. Although, someday maybe the fuel injection may be my direction but I have a lot to learn about th...

Fuel for Pinz

The mog I had ran on the crappiest gas I could find. The pinz seems ro run well? on regular gas. Is it safe (read, smart) to use ethanol in the pinz?
I know it is not a FFV vehicle, but in a pinch, if that is all I could find, should I? I don't want to screw this up.

pinz shirts

There are a few pinz owners going to the Calico Mogfest. Is there no
pinz shirt out there that we can wear? Every mog based event I go to
there is a t-shirt, have yet to see one for Pinzgauer owners.
I'ts sad.

not the pinz

You might have something there, with the wheels, I mean.
Really though, I want one for my next toy. I sold the 404 a couple of
monthe ago and it has left a huge gap. Maybe next year.

24 v fridge

UPS just delivered the fridge to the office. It will be hours before I get it home and unpack it. It's just like Christmas. I can't wait.
Dave, thanks for the help locating it.

plastic windows

How is it applied? rag, buffing wheel? To both sides or just outside of window. I am a little nervous about buffing wheels, they (operator error) can really do a job if not handled carefully.

a good GPS

Go to jeephorizons.com, find the forum and under the electronics you will find some very good ideas about GPS devices for wheeling.

Great pics.
I was noticing the tan pinz with the upper rack in number 19 of 24. How was that done?
Seems that putting a rack on the M is rather tricky. Really be interested in how it is accomplished.

calico mogfest

I called the ranger at Calico last week to make a reservation. They were surprised when I asked for a non-hookup site. It is better if you call than email them (they may not respond). You can reserve a site with your credit card over the phone for the first night and pay on-site for the next night. ...

Granted...this is not exactly in San Diego, but, I have often gone with a group of off road adventurers, mostly jeeps. http://autos.groups.yahoo.com/group/justruns They do go often, to places in the desert and it is a very pleasant bunch of people. They are always interested in the pinz. The Mogfest...
