Re: Anyone know anything about this Ebay Pinz?

I've seen this one on Ebay and was questioning why such a high list price, Jim just cleared that right up for me!

Looks nice, would hate to scratch it up on a trail though...

Re: trying to convince my wife that a Pinz is a good purchas

I am going to be honest here, depends on if the wife is going to be using it a lot. also, depends on the girl. These things are wonderful vehicles, very sturdy, not prone to failure with appropriate usage and upkeep. They should be able to smoke most all jeeps that have not undergone serious upgrade...

Re: Speedo needle bouncing

They make cable spray lubricant for motorcycles, wonder if this could be used instead of pulling out the cable? They can be a bear to get back in their sheaths and you can fray them pretty easy, at least on same vintage bikes.

Though, no experience with pinz speedo cables, just thinking out loud.

Missing ground, or possibly a corroded grounding point. Might look sturdy, but may need to be cleaned/sanded back to bare metal...

Re: Transmission leak, seals changed

Did this repair a few months ago, still had a small leak, this damn post has been bugging me so I ordered parts and tore into it today... Yep, installed the outer seal backwards!

Here's to fixing that leak a second time.

Re: Tire size for a 710M

Is the pellet trick to get around having to balance because the tire is not centered on the axle? I thought I read somewhere you had to have a special adapter to balance these wheels because of the portals? Is that correct? How large of a bottle of pellets are we talking, interesting trick I never h...

Re: 24V to 12V Converter - Lifespan?

Okay, you guys are putting my mind somewhat at ease. I don't think I appreciate half of what the previous owner did on this truck, who knew a voltage converter was this complex. I can see there are other ways to derive 12V out of the system in an emergency situation if you had too. Redundancy is key...

Re: 24V to 12V Converter - Lifespan?

Yes, some round about thinking indeed. I am going to have to think for the future, when I would like to install the SSI system. Also on the dream list would be a fuel pump, but I think that's at least a year out... The solar panel/charger is another piece I have been thinking about. Jimm391730, soun...

Re: 24V to 12V Converter - Lifespan?

The converter in the truck now powers a Ham and CB, but I do not have my Ham operating licence, so I don't use that as of now. I will want to keep the same set up because I am sure I'll need all that gear someday, or at least the next owner of my truck might. So many options, I am going to be doing ...

Re: 24V to 12V Converter - Lifespan?

No worries about the picture, I have always liked the back of your rig, the rug really pulls it together! Rmel, you might be onto something. The truck is off site while I try to sell my house and while I was cracking it to start, I noticed both batteries were getting down into the 10 volt area (I ha...
