Re: Pinzi SSI

Thanks guys for the input. I think everyone was at least partially correct. I left the clamp bolt loose when setting the engine to TDC. I would get the light set and then rotate the engine. What was happening was as I would rotate the engine, the disc would start to turn and then stop. The unit was ...

Re: Pinzi SSI

Guys I need to tap into your knowledge base... I ordered and received the SSI kit. Rick has been great to deal with. I had some trouble getting the old distributor out. (is this normal? It wouldn't even rotate much less come out>) It finally broke free after 40 years of being there and I oiled the s...

Re: Pinzi SSI

Just ordered my kit. One of my resolutions is to have a smooth running Pinz for the New Year! If I can install it without too much trouble then it will be a New Years miracle. :) Glad there was so much chatter about this system. I was torn between replacing the Petronix or going with the Pinz SSI. H...

Re: Need Backing plate

Jim: I have my old backing plate for my 710M. I blew out one of those bolts and it knocked a hole in it. I still have the plate and it can be repaired by someone who knows their way around welding equipment. I just haven't gotten around to having it done. If you are interested let me know. Thanks, J...

Which Pertronix Ignitor do I need?

Guys: I have a 1975 710M Pinz and I'd like to replace my existing, slightly worn, Pertronix Ignitor with a new one. Online it's tough to tell which one to order and I'm not sure I see an exact match to what I have. I was hoping someone has either the specs or the model number of the Pertronix that r...

Re: What spares do you carry?

Jimmy C just giving you a shout out from Mandeville, LA! I don't know of many Pinz's in our area. We should check in with Andre and get some kind of Pinz excursion set up in East Texas sometime in the fall when it cools down a bit.

Re: Engine Won't Start

Jimm and Tex... BINGO! Jim L I still need to sync the carbs; but I got on her last night to see what would come of it. I let it warm up for a while and then took it for a spin. While it drove, it bucked and sputtered as you put gas to it. If I really hit the accelerator it wanted to kill. So, I pull...

Re: Engine Won't Start

Thanks guys. Got in way late last night and no time to work on the Pinz. I'll get on these suggestions this evening and report back. Thank you all for providing input. It's much appreciated.

Re: Engine Won't Start

Jimm you may have a point. Before this happened I would always let the engine warm up before driving it as she would buck and fuss a bit. But if it warmed up it ran fine. Maybe I'll warm it up a bit and see how it goes around the neighborhood. It just seems to be a bit more extreme than before. I'll...

Re: Engine Won't Start

Update... First, let me thank you guys for jumping on this thread. Edd I laughed out loud at your question about the gas. It is generally the simple things that are the problem and not the more complicated. I do have fuel and it's recent fuel meaning it isn't old. I also took everyone's comments to ...

Re: Engine Won't Start

Jimm: Thanks for the input. I say I have Petronix ignition merely because I have the flame thrower coil. When I take off the distributor cap, there aren't your traditional points there. There is electronics, but not a metal plate. I'm assuming this is Petronix; but not 100% positive. (remember I'm t...

Engine Won't Start

So here's my story and my diagnositics to date. Took the Pinz for a drive two Saturdays ago. Ran her around for about 40 minutes. Got home and shut her down. She sat for a few hours and when I went to pull her in the garage, she wouldn't start. She turned over fine and seemed to have plenty of power...

Re: LED Headlights

Guys I just wanted to jump in and say that over the weekend I installed the Truck Light 7" LED's and they are awesome. They are just a "plug and play" device where you unplug the old and plug in the new. They work great and are a huge improvement from my dingy old yellow headlights th...

Great questions... I think the license covers most of it. :P I'd think it is any version of Zombie we run across.

Zombie Protector

I know the pics aren't great; but thought I'd remind everyone to get their annual Zombie Hunting License and point out we have one of the best Zombie Assault Vehicles available.

Levers Down!!
