Re: Washer Fluid Pump

I used a generic NAPA 12V washer pump, added a momentary on button and now drive in style :)

www.earthroamer.com

10x the cost of a 710 Pinz, but you'll travel in comfort and dealers all along the way.

Re: what happened to this truck

No, but I'd be happy to break it and trade parts + storage location since the entire truck is less than a replacement tranny.

since changing to Redline lubes for my 712 the little bit of sticking and grinding has disappeared. Next lube change I'll be using it again.

Re: Power steering

I've test driven the Pinz in Colorado with PS. We have 2 club members that worked through the details - try RMPinzgauers for help. I am told that the machining to match the electric unit to the Pinz took some time, skill & $$.

Re: Jim L's Fix

Thanks, a previous owner or the Swiss must have beat me to the solution. I didn't know it wasn't stock, just assumed it was there originally.

.... and yes I've have that support out times for other reasons. It doesn't take very long to pull the mount.

Re: Passengers in the rear?

A couple lengths of E-trac and a set of belts from Scott at EI and you're all set in about 1 hour. Use self tapping #14 screws for the E-trac and place them 1.5" above the seat base using a 2x4 spacer .... very easy and looks good enough to fool OPP or RCMP.

Re: Better heating hoses

I did the same. Ordered everything from Aircraft spruce. For the main hose from the exchanger to the fan I slipped the AC hose into an aluminum dryer duct and used spray foam to insulate the hose from the exterior air. Maybe overkill, but I have spent many years in Ft McMurray and think and build fo...

Jer , I ran synthetic 5W-50 last year and didn't have any engine grief. The rest of the gear boxes were slow to warm though.

Very cool. Wonder why it never caught on and we only use tracks these days. The steering "box" seems to be the old tough part. Thanks for the clip.

Re: Rev Limiter Testing

I have Jim L's 2.7L kit and regularily bounce the light on between shifts. Normally it lights and then I shift, but once while pre-occupied with a merging vehicle doing silly things the engine shut down. Probably hit 5000 rpm, so yes it is a rev limiter.
