Re: Doetsch tech shocks
I had the doestch shocks for a short term but they caused a lot of problems for me. Many broken shock bolts and the constant need to rebuild then after a couple outing became the norm. Finally tired of them and went back to rancho (which I hated to do). Looking forward to the availability of factory...

Re: Pinzgauer Rescue
seems every time I try to save a pinz it cost me money to get it back to "everything works" condition. I think I do it more for the idea of keeping them alive then anything else.

I like the sex bolt style when bolting through material that has little structural integrity such as fiberglass or layers of sheet metal separated by insulation. Keeps the distortion down and allows items to be secure.

It looks like you have grounded the sending unit but the gauge itself needs a good ground.

Re: Intercom
I have been running a six station system from Avcomm since '04. I opted for the dash mount controls. Nice because the pilot and navigator can shut off the passengers and have a conversation without them. I later added an expansion box which can stand alone if needed in another vehicle. As it is an a...

Re: Closed cell foam for 712 m
I have had really good luck just using the surplus military wool blankets. They do a good job with insulating and when needed can be used or more specific applications. I currently have one in my Swiss G to help with the summer heat and help keep the flapping down when at highway speeds. Works well ...

Re: 1 winch mount for different pinz bumpers and for gas and TD
I have always had the opinion that if I could not operate the grip hoist then I had more things to worry about then recovery of my truck or any other vehicle. If things keep up the way they are I will have to get a new one as my large version will wear out. I have a couple of these in different size...

Re: 1 winch mount for different pinz bumpers and for gas and TD
Since I have several different offroad vehicles and so do my friends, I just picked up a grip hoist. works on any vehicle or object I wish to move with no questionable mounts. Just used it to recover a SXS that was hit head on. I was not in one of my trucks but was still able to get the job done sin...

Re: ball joint crossover
stupid question but what is wrong with the ones SAV sells. 52.50 is not out of the normal unless you are a jeep guy. Last ones I bought ran just under 50 and that was for a us truck.

Re: Lots of cheap heaters popping up
have bought a number of items from banggood. None of it has been as cheap as the price reflects. In some cases it is difficult to tell it from the name brand items I have. I guess if you don't have to do R&D and pay large wages you can make stuff real cheap. I still don't understand how it can b...

Re: 12v power source for electric steering
I just used the converter that Ei sells with the power steering unit. Has been working very well and lots of hours of operation both on and off road. I also have a converter for convenience with a fuse block for the individual items in the cab area. I also run a solar system with a couple batteries ...

Re: Loose mirrors
There is a spring at the bottom of the tapered part that helps keep things locked into the detent. You will also need to verify that the pin which sets in the detent is not broken or sheered off. An emergency trail repair we had to do was replace the pin with a piece of a sixteen penny nail. If the ...
