Re: Voltage regulator failure modes
What we find when people are complaining about erratic charging is the wires on the back of the alternator. They say they have checked them but I have found a little too and small the last stand breaks. Of course the molex connector at the air shroud had always been suspect and both need to be looke...

Re: SWPA trip to Horse Camp Cabin
If I get back there I would love to snap a photo of each page of the log book. Interesting stories and a great way to document the cabins use. We found another house that required hiking to get to it that also has a log book. The entries were not as interesting as the horse camp log but not the leas...

Re: SWPA trip to Horse Camp Cabin
It was a bit of a drive but nothing technical. Far enough with no other attractions along the way and a dead end road all make for a secluded place. There is a ranch in the area that I believe uses and maintains it. They have a sign up that says use what you need but replace with something of equal ...

SWPA trip to Horse Camp Cabin
With the AZ weather in perfect condition for pinzgauer trips We took a couple Pinzgauers out to see if we could find a cabin that I heard about in the upper desert of AZ. The cabin was supposed to be fully stocked and in liveable condition. As luck would have it we managed to locate the cabin and it...

Re: Hard top with removable back wall for running with or without ambulance box?
EI idea to sell a limited production fiberglass hard top. The rest have been custom built. There are a couple of different styles on the SWPA trucks you could check out. Each has its own advantages.

Re: Running lights out
not having information on location hampers advice. For light bulb selections try an emergency vehicle or large truck light store. We have a company around here called The Light House and they have a huge selection of 24v lights and bulbs. If you plan on keeping stock I believe SAV still has a light ...

Re: Best Book for Amateur Radio Technician license
A book one of the local HAM clubs here recommended to me was "Now you're Talking". The clubs have been a big help though I have not yet attempted getting a license. Not enough interest in our local pinz club to make it worth my time since all I would be using for is communications between ...

Re: Harbor Freight spring compressors
Yeah the SWPA has a very nice set of spring compressors that have done many, many springs. This includes the attempt at very stiff custom front sitting for some of our nose heavy trucks. Side note the custom spring project was a failure.

https://www.tapplastics.com/product/fib ... oxy_resins I would think one of these products would match up with existing and work very well if not better. maybe an email to customer service for best option.

Re: E-Brake handle plastic coating
OEM. Some have redone theirs in Red, not sure what product they used. I have a few knicks in the one in my 712 and yes it is rather thick application.

all my ebrake handles appeared to be powder coating or an epoxy coating. If I were to refresh mine I would pursue those options.
