Check local laws before attempting to use an intercom system. Having said that here is my take on them. I have been using the Avcomm system since early '05. I chose the Avcomm system as it carries a 3 year warranty something the Vic1 did not. I also figured that in the event I needed repairs it woul...

I have been using the AvComm system for years in my 712. It is the in dash 6 station version. I went to the portable intercom for my 710 so I could take it with me when riding along with others. These are nice systems and reasonably priced. The new 400 allows one to connect the cell phones into the ...

I did engine and trans together with body on but windshield and frame removed. It definitely takes two people to do it this way. I have never had the body off so don't know how easy it is to fit body over engine but imagine that would also take two people to make sure nothing gets damaged.

I put a 12" piece on after the valve so I could reach into spots and keep the valve out in the open. Works exceptionally well. I also keep an empty 308 case to plug the hose end so the oil does not get all over the place, the valve is threaded and comes with a plug but with the hose it does not...

Ebay, a couple of years ago. I was at Super Duty Headquarters the other day and saw one for sale there also. I was a surprised to see how good of a deal I got on mine when I saw the price tag.

I don't see any need to carry the knuckle seal in a field repair kit. This is one of those repairs that should be done before going out. The field repair kit should include but not limited to points (and all the items needed to convert back to points if you run petronix), distributor cap, rotor, coi...

Interco just plain indestructable, I should know. I switched to Mickey Thompson MTZ's as the intercos got hard to find around here when I needed new tires. Now both my 710 265/75 and my 712 285/75 on widened rims have the Mickey's. I have ruined a couple of Mickeys but that was in some pretty nasty ...

[quotePosted: Fri Feb 05, 2010 3:49 pm Post subject: You're wise to be looking at 712s. You might also drive a 710 but the general sentiment on the forum is that once you've gone to a 712, you wonder why you messed with a 710 inthe first place. If you have an old 12v coil laying around it would be good to install it for a moment to see if the truck starts. I had an issue with my 712 where it had what looked like great spark and lots of fuel but would not run. Turned out that after getting rid of the flamethrower coil all is better now. BTW...

Any jack repair shop can fix it. They are not as uncommon as people think. I took mine to a local repair shop and just set it on the counter and asked to have it rebuilt. They said three days and sure enough it was done and repainted the original blue. The complete rebuild was around $65.

I can see the ambulance trucks being electric pigs. Sooo many options and a great platform to work with and perfect for solar panel installation.

my yellows have been in my 712 for close to 4 years, no battery related issues to date. My 710 has red tops in (the way it was when I got it and they are 5 years old) with no battery related problems either. Would appear battery size it more related to auxiliary use than requirements of the pinz eng...
