A magnet or stiff wire will work to remove the broken parts. The axles are most likely to break close to the diff end as the diameter is smaller there. I suggest replacing the stub axle seal in the backing plate while it is apart. If you don't know what size seal you have(there are 2 types, 55 or 60...

I used to have to deal with these type of vehicle owners, I loved the looks on their faces when they were informed that the modifications voided their warranties and it would cost $$ to repair or diagnose:shock: Most of the lifted H1 &H2's would break axles and or front differentials :cry: Funny...

Just get a rebuild kit from one of the parts dealers, the VW pumps put out less volume of fuel and may cause float bowls to go dry at freeway speeds.
But for an emergency they will suffice as long as you keep speeds below 60 mph :wink:

right above the trans output flange is a 17mm plug, pull that and you will see a plunger. (see picture) http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v510/Goatwerks/Trans/DSC06514.jpg You may have to cut the tail off the plunger to make it work, or if you have a new style one with a recess, just pull the old on...

I am also willing/able to install these kits for those perspective buyers in my area 8)
It is so nice to be free of the gas smell in the cab from the carbs :P
I tend to agree with Denis, the price is very good .
Let's see some more EFI Pinzgauers out there :!:
