Re: Best off road GPS
I have an old Garmin Nuvi 1490T with an SD card. I'm currently using a Garmin Nuvi 3790T with an SD card. I bought both the Garmin West and Southwest 24K topos and selected what area I wanted on the GPS. I use Basecamp on my PC to put in waypoints and routes and load them on my GPS. It has worked v...

Engine Oil Level Too High
Checked the engine oil level on our new to us 71 Pinz 710M today. The level was above the full level mark, about an equal distance to between the high and low level marks. Oil looked clean. There is a slight oil smell in the cab, but no leaks on the ground. Do you think I need to drain some oil out?

Re: Trick To Installing Locker Knob?
Yes, that's what I'm talking about. Wondering how to compress the sleeve enough to get it inside the small diameter hole in the knob since the entire sleeve sits in the large diameter opening first. Might try some needle nose pliers. Open to anyone's experience in doing that.

Trick To Installing Locker Knob?
Got a new locker knob from SAV with the little metal sleeve. Just bought the Pinz and it was missing. The sleeve length is the same as the large diameter hole in the knob and needs to get into the smaller diameter hole in the knob. I don't see a way to compress the sleeve diameter to get it into the...

Re: Hi From Mesquite, NV - New To Us 1971 Pinzgauer 710M
I'll post in the appropriate technical section after I register it Monday and drive it more. I assume it would be the Engine section. When this has happened on our early Scouts, Broncos and Jeeps it often was a solenoid problem, but this is a strong crank but no gas I think. The guy we bought it fro...

Hi From Mesquite, NV - New To Us 1971 Pinzgauer 710M
My brother and I just purchased a 71 710M here in Mesquite. Appears to be all original except soft top window replacement. Runs very strong, no clatter, might have been a backfire on starting once or twice. After driving it up and down the street and then restarting in 30 minutes or an hour, didn't ...

Re: New inventory of Windshields soon ( in time for Xmas) :)
Thanks Ed, I found the label: "swiss lamex" safety laminated glass. I guess I'm OK Just got our 1971 710M last week. The windshield says: SWISSlamex Safety Laminated BF-C D-2217 The side windows say: PROTEXIT 0501 Although I didn't see a direct response to the quoted post, I believe we ar...
