Re: Worn Throttle Shaft - carb balance problem
Paul, I could have answered a few of the diameter questions ... yesterday, sorry. Finished rebuilding mine earlier today. I had spoken with Jim L. prior to starting the job and complained I could never get the carbs to sync properly or to hold very long and it was frustrating. He indicated that the ...

Re: Engine leaks - worth fixing or NEW MOTOR
Jerr, The speedo leak got the best of me last summer ... Arrg! Ordered a electronic one with a hall sensor, cut a small piece of cork gasket and - no more leaks. (from there anyway) Used the GPS to calibrate it and so far 1200 miles and very happy with the new part. Off topic question: Do you get hi...

David, is the Mermite a stock item as a gas can? Or did you copy the MIL version? I like, and think I need one

Re: sourcing LEDs
I recently changed the Pinz to LED's. You like don't need more than a 1/4 watt for the conversion to 12V. The 'monster' resister will only be on the turn signals to fool the flasher into thinking there is still a 40 watt bulb in the circuit. For turn signals I stripped the guts from the stock housin...

importing a PINZ
When I imported my bikes from the USA I had to inform the border 72 hours prior to crossing and show title. If the PINZ is RIV except do I just drive across the border and book an out of province inspection to get it registered?

Re: Engine conversion
Those with the mods already could probably answer this: Will the 'enhancement' of an extra 200 cc and a cam allow the pinz to hold 55 up hill? And could it rev above 4500 rpm? My 712 runs fine on the flat 62 MPH@ 4200 rpm (5800 ft elev Denver), but I would certainly consider modifications to let me ...

Re: Aftermarket Seats, Part Deux
It's been a few weeks since the install and we had -20F here; these are much warmer than stock ... mmmmm  They have been fitted with a 10ga plate and I can use the fore - aft slider just fine. Could use a few inches on my legs, but with a headset on I don't hit the roof. Passenger seat is a lit...

Re: Engine conversion
What if I keep it a little simpler. Perhaps a EFI and / or a 2.7L kit. in the stock block.
It would be nice to pull a bit better up a hill and on the interstate. Do those of you with the conversions like them? Are they reliable
Either that or I shall pine away for a 718.

Re: How to build a (relatively) cheap intercom system
Thanks everyone for the intercom idea. I bought an Aviation headset with DNR and a Audio input running off a pair of AA batteries .... it's incredible. I listen to my iPOD and do not get my hearing hammered by the engine + gears. Can still hear all the sounds but they are very low. Next I will insta...

I did let them know initially, but if the vehicle doesn't appear on a drop down menu ... then get all confused.

Come to the treffen in Ourey , CO july 20. You'll enjoy the best of Colorado, lots of good micro brew (hope you like hops), good people and Pinz treking.
