Re: Tops and doors repair

So I found a little time to get started on making some rear doors using Steve's Cad file. First had to build a flat jig as the bend is easier to deal with once the frame is welded together. When making jig, add 2mm to overall height to compensate for bend. OK, here are some pictures: http://img.phot...

Remove the lower shock bolt first, then raise wheel off ground and remove. Push down on suspension and remove the spring.
Now you can get at the top bolt easier

Re: Hafi Heavy Cleaning - lots of photos

If the bearings are good it is best to leave it alone. You do not want to damage the bearing retainer using the wrong puller. Some come apart easier than others. Just remember to keep everything in order and in proper direction. Start by pulling shaft snap ring on 1 end, you can use a 3 legged pulle...

Re: Hafi Heavy Cleaning - lots of photos

I would guess they did not want it tamperred with as it is sealed at both ends. There is no service interval listed, just instruction to check for oil and add as needed. This also prevents forgetting to fill it  Do yourself a favor and just make a oil sucker from a 1 qt mason jar. drill 2 hole...

Re: Haflinger seal kits.. Any

Permatex aviation sealant for whole motor/chassis, same as Pinz.
Use sealant on the part you are bolting on, not the block/head sides.
Lube the silicone oil tube seals with a tiny bit of motor oil.

Tops and doors repair

After much waiting, finally got all the bow and rods for my Bug Eye. Using an old bow for a template, my friend Alan Draper made the missing bows for me, I just had to make and weld on the mountings. Re: Engine Won't Start

Did you re-sync the carbs? Are the pump rods in the top hole(furthest in) on the carbs? Screw the voltage check, what is the current coil resistance and does spark jump 1/2" or more? Re check spark after warming engine up. A failing coil will loose spark with heat. Leaving the key on without ru...

Per repair manual, set idle between 850-950 rpm warm, 800 is too low
